  • Dating sites are unfortunately fraught with lots of people on there to try and scam, stroke their own egos, be naughty etc etc. There's a definite skill required to weed these people out when you're using these services. However it's worth remembering this can also be the case with people you meet in a bar etc etc. Dating is tough at the best of times, and there's no easy answer.
  • Aint that the truth re dating sites. I have being there got the tshirts, i met some okay people 1-2 i am now good friends with but jaysus more nutters and egomanics than enough.

Evening folks, just poppin on for a quick update.

New job is going well, I'm busy learning new things as it's a new industry to me but I'm really enjoying it.
Current and main project is the development and implementation on an integrated business management system. I'm basically taking an ancient paper-based management system and dragging it kicking and screaming into the Century of the Anchovy and the Year of the Beleaguered Badger...

Still working on my H&S Course and hoping to get my first exam done soon as things are starting to open up a bit. I've actually just finished doing some work on it tonight...

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

I'll try and get back with more updates soon.

    Hiya Folks,

Cannae believe it's been so long since I last posted!

    Here's an update...

I'm doing well at work and I'm enjoying managing all of my projects.

I was able to retire my old car and get a newer one that saves me money. Better fuel economy and zero tax.

I'm still getting oot an aboot with my mates and the wee furry one hiking and camping whenever we can.

However, like most folks I'm finding it increasingly difficult making my salary strech to cover the rising costs of living (energy and food).

We didn't get a pay rise this year (due to the impacts of both BREXIT and COVID).

I'm making cutbacks and savings where I can of course but I'm dreading next winter, as the continuing rises in energy costs are a real worry. I'll be concentrating on keeping myself and the pup warm rather than heating the house I think... layering up and using an electric blanket when it's really cold... Thankfully, I'm in a flat so I get some heat from the neighbouring flats.

I'll be making my food supplies last as long as I can as well by doing what I usually do and batch cooking etc.
    Back into survival mode again...

Hope awbiddy is doing ok in these difficult times and it's guid in a way to see some other folks coming back to this great wee online community.

    Morning Folks...

I'm definitely going to have to make significant changes to my use of electricity, as I had to top up again over the weekend.

I know that the price hike has a LOT to do with it but my usual monthly top up of £40 was done in 15 days, about half the time it usually lasts!
Admittedly, I've been doing a lot of spring cleaning and wee DIY jobs in the house which has involved higher than usual use of the leccy due to use of power tools, the hoover and the washing machine etc. However, it looks like I'm going to have to increase my monthly leccy top up to between £60 and 70... that's a helluva hike!
My central heating (GAS) is off and won't be back on until it is really blooming cauld again, so consumption is limited to just heating hot water thru the taps and so my top ups during the warmer months are minimal about £10 a month usually... I'm monitoring that closely too...

Anyone else noticing the costs of these hikes and taking steps?

Much love fae me and the wee furry one!
