So good to hear from you again and that you are doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances. I’m sure you’ll soon be snapped up for a job once things ease. Keep safe and look forward to hearing how you’re getting on 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Afro folks...
Sorry for the protracted silence, been struggling past few months as I'm sure most other folks have.
Still looking for work, had a few interviews but not yet been successful in landing a new role, pipped at the post a few times... keeping positive and reminding myself that I'm currently searching for work during what is one of the most difficult periods in recent/modern history and I am getting interviews...
I am studying again (thanks to the support of my fantastic work coach at my local Job Centre) and doing an online Health and Safety course. Doing the course and passing the exams will provide me with the official qualifications needed to perform the Health and Safety functions that I've already been doing along with my qualified functions for past 15 years or so... yep, doing quality and environmental management also means you usually get lumped with H&S 'cos it's all the same innit?
Anyway, currently enjoying the course and revising and learning new things.
Been able, thankfully, to get out n about and hike and camp etc. The wee furry one is being a very good girl and helping to keep me sane(ish).
So, I'm kinda OK, just plodding along and doing the best I can with what I have in these interesting times...
Hoping all is well with everyone, despite these difficult times.BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Great to hear from you, sorry you haven't been able to secure a job yet but at least you're getting interviews as you say. I'm sure it won't be too long before you're successful, you've got plenty of experience and you're adding the qualifications to that. Glad your furry is keeping you going, they are a blessing in times like these. Keep your chin up and hopefully things will pick up soon.
Stay safe 👍

Morning folks
Sorry for another absence... been busy with the ongoing job search and my studies.
Still getting interviews but no offers so far, and I'm sure some employers are definitely reducing salary offers knowing that some folks are desperate to get work. I may be desperate but I know my worth and have challenged a few as to why they're offering way below the usual rate... standard reply is "that's what's budgeted" or "Senior Management won't budge on that"...
Anyhoo, have an actual face-to-face (socially distanced of course) interview on Wednesday 11th at 2PM *imagine a happy dance emoji here*
Folks who follow my Insta will have seen that I've been struggling with getting the messages in (translation for non-scots = Groceries etc.) but my lovely job coach at the local job center has given me help n support (as have friends) and me n the wee furry got a fantastic care package from our local foodbank (and our friends). Like a lot of folks, I was in the habit of donating to them whilst I was in work, adding to the trolleys in the supermarkets or dropping off donations. Now I have found myself needing their help. The volunteers there are great and so non-judgmental and understanding. We got a package that will see us through to my next benefit payment. I am of course revisiting my budgets to see what needs to be reviewed and changed to make any further savings I can... friends have given me the usual telling off of "why didn't you say you were struggling ya daft !!!!!!" and been popping round to "make sure I'm ok and have what's needed".
Thanks also to you lovely folks who have been messaging me, some in the wee hours o the morning, you know who ye areoffering help and an ear to listen etc.
I swear, once I am back on my feet again I will be back donating to my local foodbank and possibly even volunteering with them.
So, I'm soldiering on and doing my best to stay positive. I'm in survival mode and I'm good at that kinda thing

So pleased firstly to see you posting and secondly that you have an interview. I really hope that it works out for you.
Not sure about the salaries, I suppose some companies may have their profits hit by the virus and Brexit. Depends on the industry.3
