Morning Folks
Blooming freezing up here... all layered up to keep warm
Still having issues with my home PCthink I'm going to have to back up my system, then re-format the drive and re-install my system; not an easy task to do...
Hope everyone has a good day today

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Morning
Have a good day, freezing definitely sums up today well!“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Evening Folks
Later than usual for me...
I think I know what the issue with my PC is... and it looks like I'm either going to have to wipe the system on this hard drive and re-install my OS and everything else or get a new hard drive and do a fresh install of my OS and everything else on that
The problem in my system is AVG... the free anti-virus program...
Never, ever, put it on a system... it cannot be removed, it's like NotOn or GetAffoff and is a resource
eating virus itself to try and get rid of.
I, like a lot of folks, used it because it was free and back in the day it was a good utility... they were bought over by another company and it has all gone galloping down diarrhoea drive without a saddle.
I thought I had uninstalled it. I got a new security suite and found the work around to upgrade to Windows 10 for free... then the conflicts and issues emerged. The system was slower than it should be, errors coming up, things not working etc.
Did some research and that's when it came to light what the root was... it had not uninstalled... their so-called removal tool doesn't work, their Clear tool doesn't work, it actually uses your own system to block you from trying to remove it by saying it needs administrator approval... I am set up on my PC as the administrator!
So, it seems that the only solution left is to wipe the system and start afresh, either with the existing hard drive or a new one... so that's gonna be another day outta my plans this weekend. Thankfully, all my important files are backed up and stored on an external drive. Even at that though, it's not an easy task... I'll fix it but it is a PITA
Right... rant and complaint over... cuppa and catch up
I hope you've all had excellent days today

Morning Folks
On PC at work...
I was able to wipe my home PC Drive and re-install Windows before I left for work this morning.
So far, everything looks OK...
When I get home tonight, I hope to be able to re-install my other programs and apps from my back ups... fingers crossed.
Priorities for re-installation are my new security suite and Office, everything else can go in after them.
Good news is it doesn't look like I'll need a new hard drive
Hope everyone has a great day and is keeping warm and safe
