You can buy two of each of The March future packs ie 4 in total. Whereas recent future packs you have only been able to buy one of each of the two monthly packs. Why you'd want to buy any at 5.4% discount is beyond me though. I actually said to them in my email who on earth is going to purchase those packs0
-
I also pointed out to them that their top shop rate was market leading only if it was indeed achievable. Here's the email I sent them.
So today I discover March future pack. 5.4% discount. Come on guys. Who's gonna buy that. Last year it was 15%. And since then we have all received large price increases by way of a tariff change to baseline rate instead of standard.
How am I expected to believe I can achieve my top shopper rate when discounts are continuously low
Your top shopper rate is narrowly the Best on the market for myself but only if I can achieve a discount from baseline tariff of 26.1%
How on earth am I going to achieve that with discounts on future packs as low as 5.4%
Are winter jumbo packs going to be released again this winter to compensate
Without them I cannot see how I'm going to hit my target top shopper rate
I need some reassurance that my top shopper rate will be achievable.0 -
So, we come back to the same conversation we had over summer - the new tariff sent out, in my case starts on 22/10 clearly states my Baseline Tariff and my Top Shopper Tariff. This is a contractual document stating that Top Shopper Tariff is "Your effective prices if you buy all Powerpacks". Powershop may have a get out if we don't buy ALL the powerpacks offered. Come 21st October 2019, if after purchasing all the offered powerpacks I have not achieved the discount Top Shopper Tariff then my solicitor may need to get involved.
Like Tafrock and fewkeste, the offer to me by Powershop is only marginally better than their nearest rival so I am going to stay with them, buy every powerpack offered so as to stay within the T & Cs of the Powershop contract (even the ones that are ridiculous) and march on.0 -
@soberton - I understand your position and you are quite correct, but is it really worth going to all that trouble and expense just to prove a point?
PS may also say that Top Shopper rate is not actually a promise or guaranteed. What they do promise is a rate only slightly less than the starting Baseline Tariff. I accept your point that you might be able to argue that it's an implied part of your contract, but it sounds an awful lot like cutting your nose off to spite your face.0 -
Hilarious. Get my solicitor involved.
I will believe that when I see it.0 -
To achieve my top shopper rate I need a discount of 26.1%. The only recent powerpacks to be over that are the December January February future packs at 27.6%. If I buy a pack at 5% discount that means I need a higher discounted pack to offset it otherwise I cannot achieve 26.1%. I'm better off bit buying it.
There is no point at all in buying low discount packs with my low usage. They will simply never get used. I cashed in October 2017 September 2017 and some early jumbos as they weren't going to get used.
If my monthly cost increases above 32.58 I may as well leave powershop as I can get better deals elsewhere
At moment my cost is between 22 and 23 pounds however my estimated cost for next month is currently showing £37.51. This is why I'm concerned
I've virtually used all my hefty discounts from last years bonanza and am starting to feel the effects of increased tariffs and decreased discounts
If my cost increases above 32.58 i won't hang about to see if hefty discounts return. I'll take an alternative cheaper deal instead0 -
That's better. Oktoberfest at 25 2%. I think I'll pocket that one0
-
Yes it is rather strange isn't it. In one way I'm looking forward to a dearer tariff as my discounts should increase to the level of yours. I may actually save more by being on a more expensive tariff.
My unit price is increasing from 13.5 p to 17.31 p
My standing charge increasing from 16.6p per day to 17.57p
So my unit rate is increasing by 28.2% but my discounts should hopefully increase by In Excess of 18% if they follow your prices
Go figure??0 -
Another good special pack released today - "Super Bowl" with a 41.8% discount, enough to cover 5 days of my usage.
Long may these types of pack continue, allows me forget the aberration that is the March Future Pack.0
