Just counted my powerpack purchases. From June 6 until December 31. 56 packs bought
From January 1 up to today a mere 18. From March 1 until today a mere 8
Which makes me doubt the supposed 29.9% discount that PS claim customers can achieve via Top Shopper. Their 'claim' of that achievable level of discount doesn't seem to tally with the mostly poor discount offerings we are currently seeing.
One possible explanation is that newer customers will be offered a different range of Powerpacks of greater value and % discount but that seems unlikely.0 -
I believe newer customers are offered higher discounts especially on future powerpacks. When October 2018 future packs were initially put up on the shop two versions of the pack were offered in error.
One at 21.4% and one at 14.8%.
One was labelled fyp (first year promise), the other esp (Easy saver promise). I queried what the esp and fyp meant with powershop and mentioned two versions were available. Powershop corrected the error and hey presto I only got esp version at the Lower discount of 14.8%
We really need someone on this thread who is on first year promise to tell us their currently offered discount levels on future packs. But it appears once you've been with powershop over a year your achievable discount falls.
It's looking increasingly like I'll depart October November time once my credit is used up. Just as zog start selling electricity hopefully at a decent price so I can take up a cheap duel fuel option.
Don't get me wrong I've had a wonderful cheap 13 months thus far with powershop achieving rates I havent come close to in 5 or 6 years. But its now looking as if my powerpack discount ceiling of 20% will have to be lowered as even at my low usage levels my credit is being gobbled up and poor value powerpacks are failing to top it up to an adequate level0 -
I recently switched and here are my future power packs.
September and October, 21.4% off
November (x2) 41.5% off
December (x2) 41.5% off0 -
I joined Powershop on 21 July 2017. My recent future packs are
September 2018 14.8% off
October 2018 14.8% off
November 2018 (x2) 27.6% off
December 2018 (x2) 27.6% off0 -
There we go then. So if you leave and come back you're gonna be better off. 41.5% discount is incredible. An incredible extra 13.9% off. Seems like powershop may be just a one year thing to me.0

Yep glad to see those prices for a new and a 2nd year subscriber.
So they run a 2 stream (or maybe more) system of discounts.
Good job this forum can be used to see through their machinations.0 -
@KTF
@neilsedaka
Thanks very much for sharing the Powerpack discounts you've been offered - Powershop have now been shown to acting in what I consider to be an underhand manner.
@neilsedaka - I joined in April 2017 - I note you've been offered two December Future packs @27.6%. I was only offered one December Future Pack @27.6% (£16.45 worth £22.72)
I am very disappointed that Powershop are behaving in this manner and will now start running my credit down with a view to moving to an alternative supplier.0 -
You sure you were only offered one. I was offered two also albeit at 27 6% and a total of £9.30 energy each. If you've only been offered one then I guess not only are they taking length of service into consideration but also amount of credit you have. I joined in June 2017.credit of £81 or 12 weeks worth0

Neil sedaka. What was the worth of your two December powerpacks.
I notice fewkeste may have only been offered one December pack but the overall value is still larger than my two combined. Ie 22.72 as opposed to 2 x 9.3 ie 18.60. Seems everyone is being treated individually.0 -
Ok, so I joined on 13th April this year, just before they restructured their tariffs.
My future pack discounts are:
September and October 14.8%
November and December 27.6% (2 packs for each month)
My Easy Saver price for the first 12 months is £811, achievable by buying all available power packs. Based on the same usage (2371kwh day and 6364kwh night) the current best offer from Powershop Top Shopper would be £897.0
