Yes do look after yourself INOD. It's easy to go from not worried to very worried unfortunately! The person may not have the virus at all so try not to feel too anxious. Worry in itself is very debilitating. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It's OK to admit you're frightened. I think the majority of people who've actually taken on board what is happening are frightened.
Has anything been put in place by the 'powers that be' about what to do in your situation?
If you have underlying health problems you really need to take care of you. What happens if you develop symptoms? You would then HAVE to self isolate and someone else would have to take over.
Maybe it's time to be realistic about everything that's happening because if you take ill then someone else would have to take over anyway, so don't wait to be ill before you let that happen. Being a Martyr won't win you any medals. (((hugs))) XI Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

It’s a small charity with a very flat structure. The average ago of our trustees is over 60 so there’s little they could do. After them, I am the powers that be. My priority is to sort out payroll for this month and go from there. I’m wondering if those who are afraid to come in will still pick up their paycheques!Yesterday we had a look through the freezer to see what room we have. The short answer is none though a full drawer contains food gifted for the four legged fiend. There is so little room that we had to eat the dregs of an ice cream carton as we couldn’t figure out how to get everything back in that we had taken out. My aim is to free up enough space for a spare carton of milk. So long as my tea continues, I continue.Right, I’m off to pull on the big girl pants and to try and give the appearance of being in control.Today I am grateful for
the interest rate reduction being passed on for my mortgage. That’s a saving of £22 per month.

thank you all. So, yesterday was a second case of self isolation. The staff were great dealing with this however we also have a staff member who looks like she needs to self isolate. It isn’t good. I had to speak to the client’s bank yesterday. They were beyond unhelpful taking no account of current circumstances. Our bank mandate has 5 people named. Only one is below 60. For us to add to it all existing plus any new have to sign the same piece of paper and submit evidence of identity. How absurd is that! I just want one or two younger ones on as signatories.Yesterday I prepped payroll and dh checked my work at home. Only 3 mistakes!
Another client needs attention and I’m hoping that with today being a bank holiday here, this will buy me a bit of time to deal with things.
i had to do two bank lodgements yesterday and get stationery etc. One staff member asked me to get him greggs sausage rolls which I managed. That was a happy bunny. I nipped into m&s and was able to spend £20 on various bits and pieces. I also passed a butcher and got the mince I was after to make bolognese. Tomorrow I will make a big batch as I have an early finish due to a dental appointment mid afternoon which, as of yesterday, is still going ahead.Time to pull those big girl pants on and go face the world.

Working in the public sector, health related, I think our staffing issues will be addressed as much as they can be by moving staff around. If our place closes, we'll be moved elsewhere. Someone high up somewhere is going to have to do some thinking about how that rolls out in the private sector but what I suspect, based on an instance a few yeas ago where a care home company went bust, is that public sector staff will be expected to cover - so it may not eventually be all down to you and your staff team, INOD.
As for your initial self isolator, I too have my suspicions, but what can you do apart from follow the guidelines?
I'm going to be a pain and echo what others are saying: you need to treat yourself as you'd treat others: if your health goes down, they will have to sort things out without you and sometimes people step up when they're forced to. The situation with the bank is just ridiculous, though. Would something in writing to them be more effective?
Meanwhile I can tell those big girl pants are doing the trick - you are making steps forward and fear isn't winning. But do allow yourself those soaps because down-time helps resilience.
