It seems in these modern days that we want every MP to be some kind of rock star/ stand up comedian/superhero rather than someone who is capable to getting on with doing their job.
I'm not surprised Theresa May didn't bother turning up on Wednesday, might as well leave the other bunch to squabble amongst themselves. I think that will turn out to be one of the smartest moves made this election.0 -

I personally think that May has a stronger support team than Corbyn.
Even Ed Balls on This Week seemed brighter than some of the shadow cabinet. Appointing Diane Abbott smacks of desperation.0 -
May rightly being crticised on the bbc for not publicly having a go at Trump along with the other EU leaders.
they make a case that May wants to remain close to the USA regardless and this may in turn hurt the brexit negotiations with the closest allies0 -
BTW you won't make poor people better off by taking lots of money from rich folk. Ask any Venezuelan.
As Ha-Joon Chang says in "23 Things They don't tell you about Capitalism" - the poor are pretty much the same everywhere - it's the rich (entrepreneurs) that make a difference to a country - drive them away at your peril.0 -
Bobby, You may be right but what is not in dispute is that this election as badly damaged the authority of May. She will be negotiating with a poorer hand imo in a few weeks time. Our EU cousins will be quietly smiling away at her 'strong and stable' claims compared to the reality of her ineptitude! Jeremy is also proving to be far more resilient and competent than all of us thought, (Rugged Toast excepted).
She hasn't lost yet.
And don't forget she's dealt with a terrorist attack, a G7 meeting and an election - I think she has amazing resilience.....0 -
How weird is this (second weird thing today for me - see the nice people thread);
I was asked earlier what opportunities I would be exploiting, well...........
a tiny sandwich bar smack back in centre of town has come up just now - I've thought about how nice it would be to own this for neigh on 25 yrs
Very low expenses, know the place like back of my hand, know the market etc
I'm a little cleaned out right now having just exchanged on a nice flat, and we hate touching the ISA's, but............
They're asking for a premium as all food outlets round here do now
Reckon I would do better than current owner - he's an old fashioned type with basic offering. I'd turn it into a funky little surf hut with drift wood floor and walls etc and great healthy food
So many ifs n buts ,,,,,,,0 -
Oh yes, that's what towns all over the country need; another hipster joint.0

This is honestly my biggest fear. The LP shadow team lack experience of managing anything. Or maybe this is a good thing as they will be incapable of initiating, managing and effecting change?
It's beyond me that the public wouldn't vote for the 2 Eds just 2 years ago but are now considering JC and his team/bunch of clowns.0 -

And don't talk to me about polls, a bunch of companies who interrupt a bunch of unemployed people while they're watching Jeremy Kyle to ask them their voting intentions means nothing as it did the last few times.
Clearly Jeremy is getting under the tories skin now....a sign things are changing!0
