Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 29th September 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning Everyone
Managed to sleep until now so not so bad. Just thought I would pop in and say hello briefly before I start flying around.
Unhappy bunny 500gb USB Hard Drive died last night with loads of stuff on, not tried again this morning but looks pretty dead to me, may have to get more technical help on it, but won't have time until I come back.
. Be warned folks have CD/DVD backup too. Most of mine is.
Loads to do, but did handle most of the paper mountain last night:j :j so feeling happier about that.
Sure I have forgot something - but it may come to me later.
((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) and congratulations as appropriate needed/wanted.
Take care

Morning Guys!
Not had a very good night and have been awake for the past 3 hours:eek:
Mixed emotions about today, but know it will be a lovely day. I'll be seeing friends and family I havent seen in years and will be nice to catch up, but not sure how they will view the wheelchair
The appointment yesterday was a nightmare and 2 consultants in 5 miuntes said I needed to have an operation under general. I explained that my top consultant at Kings has said Im not stable enough blah blah blah for surgery and going under and this seemed to worry them abit. I suggested they contact Kings to speak to the consultants but they are too stubborn too. These doctors dont like being told what they can and cant do by other doctors for some reasonThey dont have many of my current notes either and this is worrying me. I have emailed another consultant and he is getting together some notes to let them have as I just dont have the energy to keep explaining stuff:o Anyway, I have to go back next week and we will see how many times they offer to put me under general then:D
Wedding starts at 1.30 this afternoon, so will be leaving here at around 11.30am. Will take a flask and sarnies as I will be STARVING by 2-3pm when we sit down for a meal:rolleyes: ...not too sure what we're eating but its 5 courses and am sure it will be delish. While the pictures are being taken we are going on a safari:j :j :j as its at a very well known Zoo. Its a civil wedding so they will be there all afternoon/evening. All sounds very posh.
If I get any nice snaps, will post some up tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.
Hugs to all.

Morning
Pleased to see there's not only me up at this time on a Saturday morning.
Not a lot on today - DH went out last night so will be having a lie-in to get rid of his hangover I should imagine! DD has a party this afternoon and wants me to stay with her so that's about 2.5 hours gone from my day.
Other than that probably not a lot although must do some things around the house and do some food shopping.
Sounds pretty boring for a Saturday!
Hugs to all that need them

Morning all,
Need to go food shopping. For every weekend we don't get a takeaway I put £20 towards debt, better to clear that then line the pockets of someone else!
Enjoy your weekend all,Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Morning all.
Hope you are all ok, hug if your not ((()))
Well it is the weekend, normally love saturdays, but dh isnt here all day as he is taking his FA coaching exam today, he has been on the course 6 weeks now and is very nervous about today, but i know he will be fine.
But this means im at home all day with 4 kids and i have loads to do!!LOL
Ds1 has homework projects to get on with, hes aimming to complete one of the 3 he has today, but the other 3 will pop my head i bet..watch this space lol.
Have to iron uniforms, prepare tea for today and dinner for tommorow (dreaded all day footy matches tommorow!!).
Have to go at some point and return the flipping footy shirt i bought yesterday as its to big!! Same size as his old one but i didnt realise it was made by adidas this year and there sizing is different!!! May leave that until monday as i dont fancy taking the boys to the sports shop alone, i may not get out alive or with a bank ballance left at least!!!
Have fun all off to pack dh some dinner up for inbetween his exams.

looks misty out there today, am off to asda later to pick up a copy of Easycook mag hope to find some bargains too
will have to clean the house as i think squishy and ds2 are coming for the weekend, our last car boot tomorrow so hope its dry
hugs nicola hope you dont have to stay in all that time
enjoy the wedding penny-pincher sounds lovely having a safari
csarina thanks for reminding me about stovies, will get some corn beef today
dont know why you think they are loaded with fat though, i buy a tin of lean corn beef, freeze half, brown a couple of onions in some oil, not much, then throw in a load of sliced potatoes, a chicken cube and water to come up halfway, simmer to cook the potato and not have much water left then throw in chopped cornbeef and stir round, serve with glass of milk and oatcakes, lovely for a cold day, leftover meat can be used instead of corn beef
Happy Birthday Mushypeas :j
hugs to all xx0 -

Hi all, Saturday again, I just love them!
It is quite bright and dry here this morning so washing machine is on already.
I am having a different Saturday than usual today as my Dad is in hospital again (emphysema) and I have been run ragged all week. I am staying at home all day as I need to recharge my batteries - Mum and sister visiting today. I did my monthly food shopping on my way home from the hospital last night and am still surrounded by tins, cans and bottles!!! I got lots of bargain bread and rolls - just have to find room in the freezer, might be difficult.
I think I might start making my mincemeat and Christmas cake today - very relaxing and uplifting. I can bake the cake tomorrow and bottle the mincemeat Monday night.
My cinema buddy is coming for dinner tonight and we are just going to watch a DVD instead of going to the cinema as we normally do.
Hope everyone has a great day.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Hubby working all day today. money excellent, but will miss him loads. going to do some baking today. and some bulk cooking on spag bol and chilli.
My little girl has asked for pizza for tea. so were gonna make ham and pineapple. yummy.Must check tho if i have pineapple. i've been having a bit of a craving for it, so eaten loads. hope i've not eaten all my stock's of it.
SO generally a fairly easy going day. gonna put washing on line. it dull and grey , but a bit of wind. not meant to rain, so even if it blow a bit dry , then won't take so long on the airer.

Just thought Id say that there are still NICE people in this world:D ....I sold a book on Amazon last week and sent it off ASAP as I always do and I have just received this morning a hand written letter saying "thankyou so much for the quick delivery of the book it was much appreciated and needed it quickly for my course". How sweet and thoughtful. It kind of put a lump in my throat. I found her email address and have just emailed saying thankyou and if she needs any help, just to email me etc.
Sorry, thought I would share that with you all. Its really lifted my spirts!
RE:Safari
The wedding is at a big zoo in Kent and whilst everyone is having pictures taken, we are taking it in turns to go on a safari. Theres about 300 people going and its all been timed and structured by her wedding planner apparentlyIm really looking forward to it now and DD cant wait, because as you all know, she is a complete animal nutter:rotfl:
Has anyone heard from MATH or QUEENIE or FRIZZHEAD recently? Missing their posts...please come back and tell us your OK. I am missing your [STRIKE]rudeness [/STRIKE] charm MATH.....you cant still be at the summer home
Hugs
