Check out TrueMPG, should give you a better idea of on the road MPG. Has a couple of settings to tailor the number to your driving style.0

Surprisingly my car does not have a trip computer, so i have calculated the MPG manually. Just passed 100 miles and it took 20 litres meaning around 22MPG, quite good for town driving0

The only reasonably accurate way to check your mpg, is by noting your mileage brimming the tank drive a few hundred miles brim tank again and then do the calculations.
Putting in a bit here and there doesn't work.
But you probably already know this0 -

Oh dear..... not the correct calculation at all.
Try picking up your knuckles, the dragging will cause low mpg returns.
Mind you with all that money you are saving in "free" insurance, fuel cost shouldn't be an issue should it?Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -

How is that not the correct calculation? 100 miles on 20 litres is 22.7 mpg.
Wrong phrase from me. Your calculation is correct, the application of the calculation is not.
Correct method is, run tank down, fill to the brim, run tank down, refill to brim.
Measure mileage during tankful of fuel and fuel to refill. Use these stats to calculate mpg.
The reason your method is incorrect is due to the measuring of said fuel consumed and the accuracy of that measurement.
For example;
Fuel to refill = £77, cost of fuel = £115.7/l, total fuel = 66.55 litres, or 14.66 gallons
Miles completed =863
MPG = 863/14.66 = 58.9mpg
^^ True stats and numbers taken this morning, when I filled up.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0
