Hardly that much petrol, 9 litres is two gallons, 10 = 2.222222 gallons, which for 47.5 miles gives you 21.375 mpg.

Considering, big engine, petrol (not diesel), automatic, and urban driving - no not unrealistic - IMHO.

Should probably read what you quoted again.

So is V-power pointless for my engine? Will Redex help?

why is it a waste on this engine? It's a I-vtec

Because its not a high compression turbocharged engine with the type of ECU to make the full use of 99RON fuel.

Your just paying more than you need for fuel.

You can pour whatever you like in but it's not going to improve that economy by any useful amount.

It's a (relatively) big engine, it's petrol, it's automatic and you're using it round town. In the circumstances 20mpg is about as good as it'll get.

Well my last car was a 2004 bmw 330ci auto, which had a lot more ommphh and I didn't drive it particulary gentle. I regularly got 23-24mpg and that's from a 3 litre petrol. I would have thought my Honda would have got the same if not a couple of mpg better, considering its a lot less powerful.

Your last car was a 330Ci? So was mine.

But hang on, I thought you said your old car was a diesel?

to be perfectly honest when I said "mine" I really meant my wife's. I drove it every now and then and it was a revelation compared to my previous which in fact was a diesel. Hope no one will call the police on this little fib

You seem to make a habit of these 'little fibs'; like the one about getting your insurance free for eight weeks. At least you could 'be bothered' to update this thread with the 'truth'.

After all, it's not like we've ever had anyone else join the forums and tell a few 'little fibs'.

Don't suppose you've ever owned a Lexus, have you?
