    I'm guessing by "insert the disc" you mean CD/DVD and so the CD/DVD tray works and so the computer is powered on. We need a picture of the back of the computer to see if it has another video connector. (DVI or HDMI) If its quite an old box, and the video is provided by the motherboard then VGA is probably correct.

    I just use Twitter but...we're looking for HDMI (used in TVs) or DVI (underneath the VGA); your monitor has all 3 I believe.

    The monitor is showing "Cable not connected" with the HDMI.

    It showed up "No signal" after removing the VGA cable.

    You've got 2 video OUT connectors; they're both from the motherboard and so I think both should work...I guess the computer has been on for the whole time.
    1. press the space bar a few times on the keyboard; windows 10 may have gone to sleep?
    2... then we'll need to switch computer off and on again. but try 1. first.
