I'm not doing very well. Dishwasher emptied and reloaded and set going. 2 loads of washing i had done yesterday have been re-rinsed and put out but it's very dark out there now. It's all things that can't go in the dryer so i'm going to risk leaving them.
I made lunch for DS and myself and then had a yogurt, After eating it i realised it was a couple of days out (if i had realised before i would have thrown them) So I ate another! Suppose it saved them from going in the bin. Only another 7 to go....
Realised earlier that there was a lot of money in the life insurance budget. After looking in to it it ended in June (a good kick of reality, our mortgage should have finished at the same time but we refinanced (and consolidated) putting it back to 25 years!) so need to look in to this later so at least if anything happens to us the house and debts are paid off for DD to stay here with the other DC (As long as she is 18, she has asked to keep the other children should anything happen to us, after she asked what would happen to them all the other night and where they would all go).LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Well it has been a waste of a week off! All the children have been ill and full of colds. I haven't really been 'ill' but i have been so so exhausted. I've spent most of the week on the sofa, trying to stay awake.
We did avoid a takeaway in the week buy nipping to Mr T and buying counter pizzas and some chocolate muffins (and a luxury cheesecake for us... Shush... Don't tell the kids) and only spent about £15 and the left over pizza was had for lunch the following day by DH and DS2.
DD1 is at the optitons today so need to get the bus there and then whatever it costs if she needs glasses.
Just this second received post and my credit card PPI has been upheld, another £300 due for mine and DH is due £1100 on his!! I can't believe we left it so long thinking we had never had any!LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Been to optitions and wasn't too bad about £6 bus fare, DD1 didn't need glasses so just test to pay for and I had a voucher to cover that. There was a small patch on her field test so they are going to keep an eye on that. They think the pain and blurriness is caused my migraines.
Picked up painkillers and Jacket potatoes while there and DD wanted a jacket at £25 but I got staff discount on it and then had 2 vouchers that both worked (one for £5 off £25 spend on denim and a £5 off £25 spend on clothing so didn't think they would work together) so only paid £12.50 for it.
Potatoes in for tea tonight and been looking at Universities with DD ready for September and helping her fill i a job application form, she's hoping her tutor will do her a reference then she can submit it.
Also been looking at coats and boots for the children, hoping to do a lot of coastal walking for free days out while away but want them to have good warm waterproof coats. I had been watching a coat for the younger 2 for about 2 years. It's now half price at £40, I still love the coat but now wondering if a 3 in 1 might be more practical.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

The PPI has gone in the bank this morning. I think i'm going to use mine to get the children good coats and boots for walking. DH's has been moved to the savings account and may stay there until after winter in case of any big hiccups (like the boiler that we have still not tried).
DD1 still needs to finish her application form. I hate the question 'Why would you like to work for us?'. Is 'i'm still a big kid at heart and working in a toy shop is my dream job' acceptable? That's what we all said she needed to write but I don't think that's the answer they are after :rotfl: I was going to apply for full time for me (new store) but DD says it's not acceptable to work with your parents!
Back to work tomorrow and i'm dreading it, didn't sleep well at all last night, luckily only 3 weeks and i'm off again. I've got a list of things I really need to work through this week and stop putting them off. First on the list are...
Ring about internet
Ring doctors for little 2

Evening. Doctors rang for the younger 2.
Rang about internet. They say we are getting 51.7mb download but all the checkers, my phone, DH phone, laptop, DS ps4 are all saying about 2mb at most. DD2 is currently trying to do her maths homework after gymnastics and it's saying no internet. They're still saying it's fine, can see this turning in to a fight to get it sorted. Wish we had haggled with BT.
Not left house to sort my prescription.
I've been naughty after realising i never turned the dishwasher on, we are waiting for takeaway and DH has gone for some beer after DD3 finishes swimming. Must sort quick meals for these busy days!LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Good morning. Another busy spendy week! I have spent way too much topping up the childrens clothes (trousers, jumpers, under ware and pj's) so they have enough for the holiday. Amazing how quick it adds up especially when the older 2 have to have adult size. Hopefully i'll only have to wash a couple of times while there.
Done a big shopping order to be delivered today. I'm hoping this should last 2 weeks with just bread, milk, fruit top up. Need to go through the freezer too as seem to be getting a lot of odd bits left again.
As it is Sunday and nothing is going to change tonight i think I might go do my 1st of month round up.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Eek! Just updated YNAB for the end of the month and i cant believe how much over budget we are this month. It's mainly areas where i've just realised we need a budget for it so there wasn't enough in them.Luckily there was enough in the savings accounts t cover it.
They were..
Storage unit- £200 over as only started putting £100 a month away this month and it hadn't been paid since July, should be fine from now on.
School- £202 over, again something i've now started it's own budget for so shouldn't happen next year.
Clothing- £125 over, hopefully shouldn't need much before spring so should have time to build up before next time. Still need coats and boots though.
Entertainment-£96 over, too many takeaways and DH wanted a new box set of DVD's with 'his PPI refund'.
Looking to do the boys bedroom quickly this week. It'll need a coat of paint, new blind (theirs is stuck to the window), and new beds. The bunk beds are about 10 years old and squeaks like mad and their mattresses have springs popping everywhere, DS1 has holes in his PJ'S from the mattress this morning. I don't want that to be their skin.
DS1 has to go on the top bunk as DS2 isn't able to get up there (and also if DS2 nappy leaks, DS1 wouldn't be impressed) We have managed to find some that are made to take the weight of an 18 stone adult (he's about 12 stone and i'm petrified he will go through the bed and land on DS2 at any minute as their's is only thin metal bars). The bunk is £250 and then will need 2 new mattresses. So maybe a £500 target to complete it?LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Just catching up after my hols! When do you go on yours? Cornwall is lovely: took our family a few years ago and did lots of walking and of course there are the 'big days out' like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan but they cost more.
Well done on the PPI! Whenever I read about this I wonder if I have any... yours was certainly worth going after.
A few posts back you said about yogurts going OOD. Have you tried sticking a lolly stick through the lid then freezing them to make yogurt lollies? Or would they whisk up with jelly to make a variation on milk jelly?
Also, will your surgery do online repeat prescriptions? I always remember mine in the middle of the night so ordering online is very useful for me (and time saving).
Have fun doing the decorating!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thank you Cherry. Hope you had a fantastic holiday. We have booked for the 26th but still not sure if we will go then or sat morning as little ones are at school. We normally stay in Newquay area with lots of attractions but being right down on lizard this time everywhere seems quiet a drive. That reminds me, I better order my Eden vouchers from mr T website and hope they arrive in time.
Great idea about the sticks in the yoghurts! We freeze some anyway for lunch boxes but this might use up a few more.
Think i should really set up online prescriptions, it's been another week full of tears after an invite to a party caused another panic attack, the children would like to go so i'm going to have to be brave.
Been another spendy week. DD was looking at booking her theory last week and the earliest was mid November. I had clicked on the wrong day and when i refreshed a spot came up for today! Wasn't sure how well she would do with just 5 days practice but we booked it anyway. She went in at 8.30 this morning and walked out at 9.15 with a fantastic pass! Only downfall to that is that I had promised takeaway tonight if she passed.
Boys beds are being delivered on Wednesday. Mattresses arrived yesterday on same day from Ar@os. Boys are so looking forward to them.
Also had email for the girls dance show and looking at about £100 for costumes and photos. Need to work it out and pay it off weekly.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554
