Home again. No meltdowns just I fuss with eating outside but it blew over quickly. Survived a scarey episode on motorway. A car a couple of cars in front stopped with no warning it was in a section that is being prepared for smart update so no hard shoulder. Wouldn't be surprised to hear that it had been hit. I don't like smart motorways now.
Ground floor vaccummed
We are now having a rest and a cuppa. I have got a little sunburnt even though we applied sunscreen.
Well done on the wardrobe sort Valli.
I live in the same 4 outfits and look forward to fitting in to something different. X
Good luck with new guest LW x0 -
I am now taking photos of my shoes so I can stick a picture on the box so I know what's in the box. This is a Toots job which has been on my (mental) Toots list for at least two years.
I used to go and help my sister clear out her wardrobes. I was MUCH more ruthless with her stuff! It's reminding me, in a happy way, of time spent with her and me chiding her to get rid of unworn stuff.
If she were still here I would probably have been there, doing this.
I am trying to decide whether to have my brown ankle boots soled and heeled or just throw them; the repair, and it's necessary, would be over £10 and the boots are probably at least 5 years old. Thing is, in winter, I live in ankle boots. Decisions, decisions. I have already thrown one pair this year.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hello,
We're just at home today. Nothing exciting. Planted a few more seeds and set up the pea frame thingy. Had lunch in garden, kids played on bikes. Towels washed and dried.
Just having an hour indoors as I've no sunscreen
Kids going to inlaws tomorrow and my dad said he might come and pressure wash the garden - I'll do some weeding if he does. We might just need to pop out for some groceries though. I've run out of butter.
Can't think of anything else to say. Mind gone blank...Bossymoo

Post-op *healing vibes* for ValliDad.
If they're wonderfully comfortable I'd get the brown ankle boots resoled and heeled, Valli. As I get older I'm finding it harder and harder to find shoes and boots that are comfortable. I must go a wardrobe and chest of drawer sort again; it's been at least a year since my last one, although I did get rid of some clothes from the attic so I suppose that counts, kind of.
So glad to outing went relatively smoothly, Danecemum.
OH is sorting, flinging and tidying in his office. Hurrah! I saw him smuggle the dsyon up there a couple of hours ago, too, but I think I'd have heard it if he'd actually used it. Still, the CS pile is growing again, and that's after the boxes of stuff I lugged down there while he was away. Excellent.
I'm just about to embark on a freezer sort, having eaten a frog already today. Go me!Better is good enough.0 -
I think I will; Honey Bear, thank you. I wear them for work, all day, so clearly they are comfy; I had to get rid of a pair that I traced the source of my backache to, last year, and a pair even older then these that had given up. My *cof* 3 remaining pairs are high and/or stiletto heeled so not for all day wear (until I am even thinner and less top heavy :rotfl:)
Have washed car, topped up various fluids therein *glug* and strimmed and mown front lawn. Now having a coffee and an apple and steeling myself to deal with the meadow aka the back garden. Have taken the camellia round the front, as Benny Bunny has taken a liking to it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good evening
It's been a funny old week.....
My step dad was laid to rest on Tuesday, so I have seen (nearly) all my family this week. I am also helping my Mum sort out probate, so she popped down yesterday.
DH has had a run in with local oiks that are off school - they vandalised the post van (DH is a postie), and banged the door and hit his head (no damage, luckily). His bosses told him to come straight into the office, and they have suspended that round - that will be a lot of unhappy people on that estate!! Apparently the little angels have been terrorising the neighbourhood recently!
Flying-wise, apart from the usual dailies & paid stuff I managed to sweep & mop the back room, vac through downstairs and sweep & mop the kitchen after work Friday. Yesterday, after my Parkrun and doing the usual 'Mum's Taxi' bit, I planted some seeds for the allotment (squashes, pumpkins & cougettes). Mum brought me some raspberries down, so we took them to the allotment and did some digging/weeding and some pottering.
Today I spent some more time on the allotment - the grass is cut, the annual rent is paid, some more digging done - and planted some strawberries in the garden. I also popped to town to get a birthday present for a mindee and then went to my riding lesson. It was lovely riding in the woods in the sunshine, and not too busy (everyone must have been at the beach!)
It doesn't look much written down, but I have ben busy all weekend - honest!!
I am now going to do some accounts while I am watching TV
Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them. I am glad ValliPops is on the mend.0 -
