Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. Its been lovely to see some de-lurkers and some newcomers; do please post even if it's just to say 'list completed'
Thank you Natty for last week's thread.
It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.
The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!

Hi all x
Thanks to valli and Natty for the thread.
I'll be in the best I can be as I'm working this week.
Just making some pasta for packed lunches now then heading to bed.
ETA..
Lamewolf the thing with my birthday is that I'm the big 4 0 this year was going to tell OH that he should do the same as he did for my 30th when he forgot but it was just too nasty to say it was bad enough that I thought it :rotfl:I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Thanks Valli for the thread, and Natty for last week. I will try this week!
Paid stuff in the morning. I also need to get my hair cut
DH is snoring on the sofa, so I may head up to bed soon...0 -
Evening all and a warm welcome to the new peoples and returners :hello:
Back from holibobs safely, although flight was an hour late, missed the airport bus by five minutes and had to wait for the next one. All cases downloaded and sorted and we went out for a curry and beer.
Yesterday I made a shopping list and we were just about ready to leave when DH said he didn't feel well. Long story short - he had obviously picked up a very nasty up-and-down stomach bug and 'nuff said I think. Was poorly on and off for about 20 hours  Stupid man wouldn't listen to advice about only sipping water, insisted on trying first coffee and then milk with obvious results.
Anyways this afternoon the bathroom, kitchen and hall have all been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected including the floors. All the glasses, cups etc that he had used have been soaked and washed and all the bedding and towels changed. Just hoping I don't go down with it fingers xd and now even more washing to do on top on the holiday stuff.
Had a quick read through last two weeks but brain like a sieve.
However huge congrats to Iona for finishing the essays
Well done to those losing weight.
Pleased you have doggie company on the way LW
Great the bracelet was found Mrs MP
Hugs and gws vibes for all those needing some
Hope you all have a super Monday

Thank you for thread. Definitely going to try my best this week.
Both washers going ready to go out in the morning (1 load is towels). DH gone to bed as was on nights last night so sorted today's clean washing into piles to take up in the morning and uniforms ready for kiddies at school. Another week left here.
Really need to sort the pantry tomorrow too, because of the vertigo I've had, DD has just chucked the last 3 weeks shopping in there as i couldn't bend to sort it, Fridays new tablets are working wonders so need to dig out any mouldy bits that might still be in carrier bags forgotten about.
Need to ring hospital for ds appointments, book his nappy delivery, fill the car and pay council tax. Now it's wrote down I can't keep putting it off.

Thank you Valli for the thread and Natty for last week's, even though I lost track before the week even started. I am so in need of being in this week and not falling by the wayside.
We've had a stupidly busy weekend, but FiL's birthday went off well, with 12 of us round the table for lunch today which went on for 5 hours! I'm hoping that my car makes it out of the garage some time this week, both because I can do without that complication in my life, as well as the expense that will definitely be heading my way.
Onwards and upwards...a pile of clean towels is on the kitchen table to push me off in the right direction tomorrow morning. See you tomorrow and have lovely Mondays all. X0 -
Thanks Valli - I'm in til Thursday but may not follow the lists (what's new? I hear you say!!!
) as I just need to concentrate on downstairs, washing, sorting the rats and packing!
lynne - welcome back; hope you had a good time x
ionafan - yay! well done on finishing; enjoy your hols x

Don't know why I bother to 'sign in' each week really as it always goes haywire. Still I am making slow progress with reports and am gradually catching up. Have just done my pay claim for this month's reports and I did 11 at uni; checked back and it's the most I've ever done in a month plus there were some private ones the last couple of months. Explains the depth of dust in my house.
Got quite a lot done in the garden today.
This week's time-consumers are:
Tues eve pick brother up from hols then he's taking us out for a meal (nice but that's an evening gone).
Wed uni all day plus dancing in eve and need to make a cake as......
Thurs uni am then my mum is coming to stay till next Tues.
So any time between now and then will be spent writing reports/tidying up/doing meal plans/getting garden looking great.......that should all take until about October.
Sometime am expecting to hear from the physio as my shoulder has never really been fully right (it's been a year since the original injury) so I have reluctantly decided to email her; lesser of 2 evils really, her or GP.
Hopefully getting new car this week (preferably before Tues as then we have to start paying for hire car).
Happy hols to Iona and Froddington, welcome back Lyn and please can I have some of the slimmer's willpower?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Morning all
It's a beautiful morning here. I got loads of laundry done and dried yesterday, and put the spare bedding on to wash just before bed so will peg that out shortly.
Today will be: school and Pre-school run, paid stuff for two hours, volunteering for two hours, home for lunch and do dailies, another hour of paid stuff, post office trip then school run. DH away again all week just me and the tiddlers to feed.
Lynn - I hope you don't get the bug love x
Off to slurp this cuppa then get dressed and put some make up on - let's face the day looking good!
Have fab days all xxMFW
