I have a belt . Braces?!? Thanks , but No thanks . :rotfl:

Actually AC, a pair of braces are a very good idea and will help you look a lot tidier than a belt if you're losing weight and your trousers are getting a bit on the loose side.

Far cheaper than buying new clothes for each stage of the weight loss/fitness campaign that you achieve...

    Cheap as chips.
  • Not for me harz . Did you mention chips?

Posted Bluetooth speaker yesterday . Had a strange winning bid for some mahogany picture frames I was trying to offload .
My friend was gonna take them but changed his mind . They were there a long time . Great now that they’re gone .

Was gonna go to the gym this morning , but my eyes are pure bloodshot and one is closing more than the other. This is down to the reduction of prednisolone . Will try tomorrow .

Have lots to do in the flat today , although I’ll try to venture out for a while . Cold has almost gone..I think

Nah...get some red braces....very Wall Street. :rotfl:

Hi Ac. Long time no chat. Good to see the effects of reducing your prednisalone aren’t too horrific. Just take your time, lots of TLC as needed. Remember the Tortoise and the Hare, slow but sure wins the race.

Did you join DWP gym in the end or another one. My DWP does both yoga and pilates classes as well as the usual Zumba and aerobic type classes. The cost is included in the monthly membership fee so nothing extra to pay out.

Definitely agree you should think seriously about a bit of voluntary work.....or even a day at college, or a few hours barwork. It’s coming up to Christmas and there bound to be a bit of casual work going begging. Paid or unpaid it doesn’t matter but you do need to have something on that CV.

You could say you have had a sabbatical or gap year but even so you will need to demonstrate you have done something with your time other than moving house.

1 year already, amazing how time flies.

Just 8 weeks till my Amazon trip........getting excited now. Have started prepping, reading up, planning shore excursions, booked my vaccinations:eek:, been to the dentist:eek::eek:

The boys are going to buy me binoculars/telescope for Christmas, should be some good star gazing when at sea (no light pollution) and hopefully plenty of wildlife. I just need to sort out some proper wet weather gear.

My Fitness and weight loss regimes are going well. Building up my step count, knee injury improving. Will have another knee injection in time for the holiday.

Other than that no real news......my “fling” from the holiday is still in contact but I have relegated him to “just good friends”. He was a bit disappointed I think but quite philosophical. He was a nice man but not the “right man”. :rotfl:

Are you going to be channelling your inner David Attenborough LL? :)
  • Good to hear from you again LL , and in fine form :)

    Yes, it’s d w I joined . Not sure if they do yoga. I’ll check .
I’ll be aiming for end of January now to start work of some sort once again . Things are seeming to go in the right direction now , and you are right about the tortoise and the hare. I will see this year through , but will be looking more in depth about what needs to be done by January . Even I know that I have to get out there and do something .
My body feels much more flexible now than for a long time .

If the prednisolone situation settles then maybe it could be reduced further in may .
Still tidying up the flat:) Listing more stuff on fleabay .
What is a tad annoying now, is when I purchase stuff I have to hang on to the boxes for warranty purposes . Still undecided about a new bed / mattress . The bedroom is an awkward shape .ill sleep on it :)

    Definitely......got a pirhana fishing expedition booked. :eek::rotfl:
  • Managed to get to the gym today , but it was a bit of a struggle .
Managed to do the step machine , the bike and the cross trainer plus a few other bits so not too sad. In time I will have to increase what I’m doing . Maybe before December.
It was the first time I ventured out the door in 3 days . I will be getting out more very soon and give myself the kick I need.
Still , things could’ve been worse. I’ve had my first tension free year since 2007. Tomorrow is the anniversary of me leaving my last employers :beer::beer::j:j . Just have to find a new employer in 2018. In the meantime , I must tidy up the flat:rotfl:
  • So , the boiler room is finished . Wardrobe staying . The sideboard will go into the bedroom probably tomorrow . Bedroom is untidy ,due to a few crates that need emptying .
No gym today. Have to go to Poole for a few bits for flat .

Got a gas bill from edf today . It says I’m £188.28 in credit and that as from December 1st my direct debit will be £1 .
I’m not accepting that , as I want to be in credit wherever possible .
Also, with the increasingly colder weather approaching it’s obvious that I’m gonna be spending more over the next few months.
I haven’t got the electric bill in yet . I normally pay£49 for gas and £49 for electricity . I asked them before to leave it alone .
It’s nice to be in a fortunate position for now, but if things got tough
and I let things slip , then I would be st their mercy owing them .
It’s easy to see how some people could end up in a muddle , especially those who have their head in the sand . I’ve been guilty of that myself. Remember the box files:o

Whilst I agree about paying more to stay in credit, I think £49 a month for each is probably too much. You're in a small flat with only you there, so shouldn't use too much.

In contrast, we're paying about £40ish for a 3 bedroomed house, with no gas, 3 adults, and lots of tech. Because we have no gas, we have an electric cooker, and hot water/heating is oil fired, which at the moment is costing around £80 a month.

Remember, you've got no income, you need to be savvy about bills. You could maybe save about £50 a month, or £600 a year.
