  • Thanks ladies:)

    Well, I’m home now .
Journey to Waterloo gtreat . Went to McDonald’s for the first time in years in Waterloo station . Very chaotic . Staff look totallly stressed and the customers confused.
Then got the 521 bus to London Bridge . Waterloo Bridge is full of roadworks and looks neglected . Saw loads of vermin sitting outside shops and on the floor with their hands out. A few buildings still haven’t been finished . Then because of the recent terrorist incident at London Bridge / borough , the Bridge has ugly barriers up all along .
It’s still going through building works also.
    London hasnt changed:)
Trying to find the convenient pub we agreed to meet was impossible to find. So, we chose bunch of grapes in borough high street.
I lived most of my life in the borough. Many changes not for the better.

So we get to the o2 . It is huge . I think it’s my sixth time there.
No problem with security. Trying to find where we were sitting took ages. We had to go up to come down so to speak .
We were just above the standing area. Great view. But, we were still a bit high. It looks better when the lights are out and the band performing . The stage was smaller than expected and there appeared to be more seats. Total sellout. Apparently Metallica now have the record for most fans at the o2. They played a blinder and was well worth going to see. I thimk that’s the 9th time I’ve seen them over a 33 year period .
Getting the underground to London Bridge was a doddle .
    Getting the taxi to my sisters was a p I t a .
The taxi driver didn’t want to know the post code and drove around for ages. The instructions from my sister could have been clearer though it has to be said . Got there around 12.15 am
Good to catchup once again . I saw my nephew there also. Unexpected visit .

Got home . Letter from Hmrc ...they tell me I’ve paid too much tax since quitting the crap company last Nov . I am owed £733.:)

No need to ditch the mattress, just get a mattress topper for it. Get one that's 3 or 4 inches thick. It's amazing the difference they make.

Mettalicorp is the right name for them! I went off them when they shut down Napster. They didn't seem to realise that it was a good way for people to see if they liked their music, and if they did, then they would buy the CDs. I still always buy the CDs of bands I like, because I want the inlays/booklets, and to have a hard copy.

Have fun anyway. It might not be a problem with your passport having your old address as it has your name (which will be the same as your card details) and the photo of you.

    Good idea gigervamp . I will get a mattress topper . :)
Will google the best option .
    Thanks

My husband and I first discovered mattress toppers when we were in the States on our honeymoon. The bed felt wonderful, like laying on a feather bed, but also with the support of a mattress underneath.
When we came home, we looked around for one, but they weren't really a thing over here then. We finally got one in Ikea and never looked back. We really notice the difference when we've stayed elsewhere, in a bed that doesn't have one.

Glad you had a good time at the gig, and got to see your nephew.
  • Just popping by to see how things are going A/C and everyone.

Sounds like you're having fun A/C, Metallica and London etc- nice for you to get a tax rebate too!
  • Hi worrierwalker:)
Good to hear from you again. Hope alls well .
Yes, things seem to be going in the right direction . So far, so good.
Next year will Be important . Apprehensive , but fine :)
  • So , today ..loads of sunshine :j
I went to gym . Showered again and went to Poole to get some essential stuff .

Before that, I got thinking . I’m in 2 minds about joining a yoga club up the road . I’d probably go for 1-1 sessions once a week .
It’d get me out of the flat .
The other alternative is to you tube of course. Still contemplating the best way forward.
Also looking at going to Pilates as well .
If there is a place near me, I’ll have to look into it .

It has taken me a while to get some sort of momentum going , so in a way my mind now is like buses..2 ideas at once . :rotfl:

Got my friend coming over tomorrow to give me a hand with one or two bits so I made sure I have milk and cider in the fridge . Probably not ideal to mix the 2.:rotfl:
I don’t have milk in the flat, unless I do scrambled eggs or have people over .

Gotta tidyup the flat later .

Just my two pennorth AC, but I think at this point in time after nearly a year without a job, you should put a complete block on spending on anything more that is not required for daily living.

Gym plus walking should be more than enough on the exercise front, also if you do your food and similar shopping daily and get a small rucksack to carry same on your back that will help with the exercise regime as well.

I was going to say the same as Harz. You've got no income coming in, so you really need to keep an eye on your spending, and you've already got gym membership.

    Just use YouTube videos.

  • Thanks for the input folks .
I have cut spending down an awful lot over the last few months.
No coffees ( hardly anyway) . No more expensive purchases and I’ve even made some cash , courtesy of flea bay .

Looking in the mirror is not the most uplifting thing in life when you’re a tub of lard .
The reason I was thinking of the yoga class was. A) to have a kick and encouragement from a new source ..B) use the windfall from HMRC as an incentive to do it .

I have been looking at my budget and things are not too sad or morbid just yet .

Yes yes yes, I do understand fully what needs to be done .
I am a little disappointed that my health says I couldn’t do everything in the 6 month frame I gave myself initially .

I mentioned a few pages ago that I was intending to put some cash away into a savings account .
The idea was/ is. Is that I put £7;000 into a new account for everything day to day living . The rest would be untouched .
It means I would have a few months to get fit and would last over 6 months . By this time I would like a part time job.
I honestly don’t look / feel well presented enough for employment .

If I don’t do the yoga class, I could see a personal trainer at the gym for a few sessions . The thing there is, I don’t see anyone’s specifications on the board of trainers. Not enough explanation .
I don’t think I could run / jump etc because of the breathing side of things . I’m using machines ok but could do more and need guidance .
    We’ll see:)

I just listed the Bluetooth speaker I got when I was in the last flat on fleabay just now . Plus 3 picture frames which my friend was gonna take but changed his mind . That was annoying . The recycling people take less and less these days .

    That’s it for now
