I think I would also phone pest control AC. We have never had cockroaches here but saw a house infested with them in Australia. Taping the vent up temporarily should be ok but not long term as you need ventilation in particular in a bathroom.

  • Yes, it seems the thing to do . TBH I shouldn’t really have anything because I only moved n a short while ago , so the culprit seems to be the extractor fan.
I just cleaned the one in the kitchen . Not brave to do the onea in the bathroom.
The other slight concern of course, is the flue out of the window where the boiler is .

Had a text conversation with my friend . He seems to think it may be a stat beetle that lost its way. He says it’s not the climate for cockroaches. In hindsight I should have taken a pic on my phone before taping the vents up .
  • Poole Council don’t treat beetles/ cockroaches unfortunately.
I’m gonna look for a local pest control Co. Now

If it’s just the one beastie then try Raid. You can get traps or sprays etc. Available from most supermarkets, diy sheds. You could also try borax. Don’t leave any food lying around and make sure it’s in airtight containers.

Taping up the vent won’t stop the little blighter for long.

Obviously if it’s an infestation then you will need pest control.

We used to get the odd one in our apartment in Spain, usually in the autumn as the nights got a bit colder. The Raid trap soon sorted them out.
  • Good point about Raid LL. I got some last week .
I’m a little scaredy cat , but will have to spray it up there eventually .
I would expect it needs to be cleaned anyway . Something I’m not looking forward to.
  • No more creepy crawlies . Or so I think :rotfl:
Had a few( too many ) ciders on Sunday . Yesterday I had to visit my local train station early because the ticket machine was faulty .
Had to make 2 trips in the rain , as I was given the wrong one day travelcard . Yesterday instead of today .
This is because I will shortly be making my way to London o2 .
TBH , I don’t fancy it . I’ll be having a swift beer with a friend beforehand , and before my other friend arrives .
Everything is so corporate now . I got an email yesterday reminding me to take photo I d / credit card fetails etc. All standard .
Then I have to have photo I d . This is tricky , as the only photo I d I have is my passport which still has my old address.
Was told on the email to be there earlier than the gig that was on Sunday by half an hour or so. I would say the only other big band in terms of venue size I would like to see is rammstein . Maybe Jean
Michel Jarre one more time . I would say this is the last time i see
Metallicorp. There will be gigs in Bournemouth and southampton to see in the future that in theory are less corporate and more intimate, and of course it means I would avoid the London jungle.

I have 2 sisters, and I’ve decided to crash over for the night .one lives near Bermondsey tube, the other has moved recently from Waterloo to borough. Being dark I aim to get a taxi from London Bridge and that should take care of things.
The sister that lives near Bermondsey tube says the one way system is a nightmare so I’m better off going to my other sister.
London doesn’t get any better .
I’ll be back home sometime tomorrow .
    Gym Thursday .

I may have made a mistake by getting the hardest mattress possible when I moved in. It looks like I may ditch it and get something a little softer . Crashing over at my sisters may be an indication if I sleep better tonight . I may get a smaller bed and mattress altogether .
I’ll sleep on it for now .

I’ve made the boilerroom more cluttered by moving the unopened crates from my bedroom into there. The idea is I tackle them on thurs/ Friday and that means everything is done .
I stopped going through stuff after going through the 1,000 Box files which have been dealt with . After these crates, then that’s it .

No need to ditch the mattress, just get a mattress topper for it. Get one that's 3 or 4 inches thick. It's amazing the difference they make.

Mettalicorp is the right name for them! I went off them when they shut down Napster. They didn't seem to realise that it was a good way for people to see if they liked their music, and if they did, then they would buy the CDs. I still always buy the CDs of bands I like, because I want the inlays/booklets, and to have a hard copy.

Have fun anyway. It might not be a problem with your passport having your old address as it has your name (which will be the same as your card details) and the photo of you.

Enjoy the concert and have a fab time. I am sure It will be nice to see your sister and spend some time with her.
  • Don't worry your passport does not have your address on it so can be used as photo id
