  • Congrats on the grandchild LL:)

Went for a long walk this morning . Sent potential personal trainer a text. No response as yet, but may phone him later .

This time last year I had the removal booked. Won’t mention the rubbish run. I was packing stuff into crates etc and chucking things out by the truckload. Some things I thought I have I haven’t and some things I wish I kept . A few things still to do, but only in the bedroom . Just need to move the sideboard from the boiler room and boiler room is finished . The sideboard is light, but the bedroom is a bombsite .

The people upstairs tend to leave their unwanted mail in the communal area , instead of putting return to sender on it and putting in the post box. Haven’t they heard of Elvis ?!?
Still I’ve been doing it myself and there’s less unwanted mail coming in these days .
  • Just spoke to personal trainer, and will be seeing him tomorrow.
Hopefully , this is the start. I used to see a personal trainer for some time back in the early noughties. Lost 4 stone in a year . This time I hope to lose 2 stone and realise that I’m not in my 40”s anymore.
    Fingers crossed and all that.

Just got chair delivered for my Computer area. Forgot all about it .
Just jumped out of my skin:rotfl:
  • Sold my old office chair on fleabay for £14.50 . Buyer will pick up over the weekend . Sold that Bluetooth speaker last week for£72.50
In reality it was £60 because of postage . Still, only paid£99.99 in December last year. I’m mulling over whether I should sell my tv sound base which is less than 2 years old still boxed up.
I haven’t watched tv in the bedroom since I came here. Not sure if the room is gonna allow that once I have bedroom tidied . It’s only a19” tv but was great in my last flat in Twickenham . I’ll sleep on it.

Just had a long chat with personal trainer . I’ll be seeing him for my first session tomorrow . He knows his stuff and did a fair bit of research on myself since yesterday . I just hope I can do this .
Looking forward to it . I’ll do what I’m told and hopefully this is the next major step forward .

  • Well , I had my first personal training session today.
He is a really enthusiastic and professional trainer. I’m still alive .

The only thing I found strange and off putting is doing bench press.
I’ve done it before many times. However, I think I have a problem with heights. When lying on the bench , I’m looking straight up into a massive space . It’s very dark in the gym anyway, but ceilings don’t exist in this gym . So I’m looking up into a massive space of darkness.
Felt kinda queasy . I’m on the verge of dumping bread for good .
It’s gonna be hard , but it will be done . Was given loads of good advice about everything really . Will be seeing him Monday lunchtime .
Tomorrow I will be making more of an effort on the food side of things
I’m stubborn mostly on food , most of that can’t be helped. However I will try hard to alter things as and when I can . I will do the utmost in doing as I’m told also. So tomorrow I will be food shopping with a ( slight ) difference .

Hi AC dropping bread might help your muscle pain. It’s definitely worth a try. I am much better when I avoid all grains. It takes a bit of getting used to but i found it was worth persevering. I substitute spiralised vegetables for pasta, have cauliflower “rice” etc. It’s fine. I occasionally lust after pizza but frankly it’s not worth it. One slice and I’m in agony. :rotfl:

I’m just back from a good walk too. Beautiful sunny day, clear blue skies, so took my camera and got some nice “autumnal” shots. Sun is dipping now and getting colder, so time for a cuppa and get down to some Hygge and a little nap. Physio tomorrow.

Have ordered my anti mosquito stuff......

Yes first grandchild.. DIL very nervous. Its times like this when a girl needs her family - especially her mother and of course hers are all in Venezuela. I shall just have to step up to the plate and be there for her, hence not booking any major trips for next year. I had planned to go to Iceland in July, but that’s when the baby is due so I have shelved that for now.

Her sister is a doctor but again in Venezuela so they are Skyping a lot. One of my close friends is a retired midwife and she is quite happy to be “on call”as it were with advice and support.

But yes a big next year, especially if I do move house as well.

Great to see that you are going to try and eat more healthily AC. Forgive me but I think you can try to be less stubborn and more open to change. I know it is difficult but it will pay dividends on your health. My advice would be to make small changes gradually rather than change everything all at once.

My bit of advice is treat takeaways, coffee shops etc as treats and not usual occurrences, same as these unhealthy meal deals of processed sandwiches, salted crisps or chocolate bars and unhealthy drink. A nice salad or soup and roll and piece of fruit would be cheaper and more healthy.

  • Sounds like you’ve got a lot going on LL :) all good stuff.
Sounds like Iceland is on hold, and Lidl will do for now.
Actually , I’ve thought about Iceland for a break myself . Looks good, but apparently expensive .

Yes enthusiastic, I will be changing things gradually . Unfortunately I’m allergic to salads. I will be eating various seeds. A bit like a budgie really . The good thing is the coffee shop visits have been rare over the last few months. Never really been a takeaway person .
That is if you don’t count wimpy and chips, or a rare kfc;)
Still, hopefully everything is going in the right direction .

Do you like soup AC? I have a soup kettle - which is like a big kettle but has a chopper thing in it - it's not one of those fancy ones you can get, just a very basic one. It's great for using up leftover veggies etc., The soup recipe I love a the moment is one I saw on a Tesco advert a while back called Nanna's magic soup - it's got sweet potato, tomatoes, peppers etc., and coconut milk (I use the light version). Tastes very like Heinz tomato soup but nicer!

What exactly in a salad are you allergic to? Salads don't have to be made from lettuce, cucumber and tomato. There are all sorts of leaves and many vegetables that can be used raw to make a salad.
