  • On reflection , it's probably best to tell the seller the truth and ask them to send tape and invoice .
  • Well, I just emailed the seller explaining the situation .
If there's not a satisfactory conclusion , then neutral feedback will be left. It will mean I buy from another seller.

Not sure what to make of the neighbours. I won't take it personally .
I'll just move on from that now .
There are packages that have different people's names with the correct door nos . They seem lazy / not bothered half of the time .

Speaking of neighbours: my friend parked his car in the wrong space by mistake . Nice lady enquired about 10 mins later. I apologised and the car was moved .all pleasant .

So you have the insect net but not the double sided tape? I wonder if the tape has been sent separately but even if that is not the case I sincerely doubt any of your neighbours has pinched that so yes I would contact the seller and say where is the tape? Annoying but an email should suffice.

  • That's frustrating.....do you know if anything is actually missing. If it was a fabric net thingy with just double sided tape then would there necessarily have been any fixings such as screws etc.

I can't be certain but from what you are saying but it sounds like the type of thing which you just attach using the tapes, so perhaps the parcel is in fact relatively intact. It may just have got damaged rather than being tampered with per se.

Perhqos it was initially delivered to the wrong flat, the occupants started to open it and realised it wasn't theirs. Then they perhaps assumed it was yours and then put it back in the hall.

Do you really need the invoice.

Have you examined the net, is it fit for purpose, do you need any additional fixings. I am guessing what you received is in fact all there is to it - Iyswim.

I have seen these nets used a lot both in Belgium and in Spain and often they are attached just by double sided tape or Velcro. Some are attached to a frame but some fit the door or window frame using just the tapes.

You can actually just buy the mesh fabric and make your own so there are several variations as to what kind of fixings you might use.

I agree I wouldn't tell lies about this, if the nets are unusable then just contact the seller and tell them what has happened. If the nets can be used then just let the seller know that they omitted your name and that it caused some difficulties so that they are more careful next time.
  • Is the tape actually missing....sorry I must have misunderstood.

Well as annoying as it is you can buy double sided tape from any diy shed or hardware store.

I recently bought a self assembly chandelier. Three screws were missing. I really couldn't be bothered of going to the hassle of returning it so I hunted through my stash and found three screws which were "near enough". Job done.

Annoying of course but there you go.

There's no doubt about it quality control is extremely poor these days and buying online is often a game of chance. Customer service is often lacking.

I once tried to buy a mirror fronted chest of drawers from dunhelm.. Three times they were smashed to pieces when they arrived. In the end I gave up and got my money back. Shame because I really wanted the item but they would not order it in for me to collect from the store. It was an online purchase only. Their loss.
  • Hi LL.
yes, it was just the tape missing . I could try and get some. I went to wilko in poole . No go . It's amazing the places that don't sell the products you want when you need them .
It's actually easier to get the same item again .

    Just googled suppliers.

    Amazon, ebay, screwfix......around £5.

Wilkos are a bit hit and miss sometimes, especially the smaller stores. I wish they would concentrate a bit more on traditional hardware and diy materials, they used to be so good at that but now they seem to be after the housewares market too.

I suppose it's more lucrative, because apparently younger people aren't into diy.....allegedly. Although I know plenty of youngsters willing to have a go.

Speaking of having a go.....I am just going to try and have a go at some paleo "baking". I don't mind not eating grains most of the time but now and again it would be nice to have some crackers or a biscuit or even, dare I say it, ....cake!!!! :rotfl:

Today's efforts are savoury crackers using almond flour......should be interesting.
  • AC maybe the seller wasn't near his desktop to hit the despatched button- if I work from my phone I've yet to fathom out how to mark as despatched on it so it doesn't get done til I get to my big old mac. Could be why you're only now getting the email.

As to mail being opened, at a rented property we were in right in the middle of nowhere, our mail kept going to the cottages over the road- the people there opened everything before passing it on- including a letter clearly marked as being from a solicitor which included info about my mother's estate! It's infuriating.
  • I just changed the password on my email address , just in case.
I will now contact Ebay and hopefully I should be ok .
    So annoying
  • Just had another look at the package , and tape is in there after all.
    Doh!:o
It was packed right in the middle of the netting . I pressed for a while and just about felt something . Still , there is no invoice . They may not have sent it . Feel stupid or what ?
I often sign and take things in for the neighbours anyway.
If I see them I'll apologise and blame the seller .
I've told the seller , and asked them if they actually did send an invoice .
All of this could have been avoided if my name was on the pa Kate in the first place .
There are worse things in life
