  • Hi - I'd like to join in this month please. Starting from today (as it's pay day, hurrah!)

I'm budgeting at £250 for the month (as it's a five weeker) and will include everything from nappies to lunches for me (but not kids lunches at nursery - £15 per week. It's for me, OH, DD (2yo, nappies at night-time) and DS (1yo, in nappies)

    Wish me luck!

    Right here I go....
I have updated sig and as you can see I was over, and felt like I really struggled not to go over by more, SO....I am breaking the mold and I am going to up my budget to by £10.00 pw.
When I feel comfortable keeping well below this I will then start reducing it by a fiver a week each month.
I have learnt a lot by coming on this forum so feeling more confident now, I can't believe I used to make a chicken dinner pull off the breast meat for 4 dinners and chuck the rest in the bin {smacks own hand} never again....

My week starts on Monday 1st and wil be recieving a nice Tesco shop so will post an update then...GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY.

    Mel x

  • Well after failing (again) in September - I'm back in for October.

    Unfortunately it's a 5 week month:eek: aswell - but I will do my best!!

£400 for 2 adults, 2 Dss & an 11 month old (who can soon stop formula:j so that'll be £6+ per 10 days saving!!!) Includes all toiletries, contact lens products, household cleaners, food, packed lunches for DH & 2 DSs etc....

Have ordered grocery shop from Tesco (coming tomorow) - will probably be around £90 - £100, but have used a £10 off £100 shop voucher from MSE!!!!

  • Hello :j

I would like to join in too please. This is my first time and although I have read the threads for the last couple of months I have bitten the bullet and given myself the budget of £350 for the month, thats £70 per week for 2 adults, 1 6 year old and 1 3 month old!!! TBH I don't really know how much I spend so I am taking the advise in the original post and guessing so that next month I can do a more accurate budget.

I have a quick question. I have just done a big shop at tesco online to get me started and was lucky enough to have clubcard points codes to use (£41 in deals). I will be using them to pay towards car MOT/service.

Should I deduct the amount from my total spend or not??
  • Okay just back from hols and want in to the grocery challenge again for this month. I'm going to go a bit easy on us for this month because it is always hectic at work and I do at least a little bit of comfort and convenience eating (although I have had the foresight to freeze a lot this year). For two of us I'm aiming for £180. Might even manage an underspend, who knows.

    Good luck everyone!
