  • Hi all,
I'm going to join in if thats ok. I knw it's late in the mnth but my pay runs 20-20 so figure if I start now I'll start as I mean to go on! My food bill is horrendous! For lil old me and 3 cats (was 4 until last Tues...) I spent a min of £50 a week! I have a total spend budget this month (including going out, present, petrol) of £550 and would like to keep my food budget down to £40 a week so thats £160 a month...Over time this will be improved but seeing that I spent £20 on cat food this week...! The freezer is stocked and hopefully I'll manage!!

It's becoming a difficult month for me as DS3 is in Chicago this month and catering for only two of us as we can have a complete change of menus. DS3 will not eat his dinner until late in the evening, so as we eat between 6pm & 6:30pm he has to heat his up in the microwave, which precludes many of the things we like such as pasta. Also he doesn't like a lot of the things we do so I tend to cook only the things he likes . Now he's away I can do all the things we like, so my shopping is shot to hell. I should have planned better  and as a person, one of who's responsibilities was producing the budgets for a large company, I feel a bit of a ninny :o. Hey Ho, never mind, life's too short to worry about these minor matters .

I know absolutely that all you others will will be in on target and show me up no end . Good luck!

Spent almost €53 in lidl on Thursday, which brings me to a running total of €233.56, so €96.44 left until 31st. Need to buy some DW tabs, cat food, milk and meat to-morrow, think I only have mince in freezer...lots of fish which I would eat everyday but not fair to the others.

Looks like I might make the target this month, will have to be careful, as it was in last week I did the damage last month.

    Good luck to all,

    Marie

    Hello everyone,

I'm not doing too well this month. I have been ill, and been really busy with visiting family and a very busy week last week. I have only logged in once in the last 10 days and meal planning went out the window. Glad to see that most of you are doing better than me.

My total for the month is running at £348.50 already, with 10 days to go.:o

Oh well, I have done a shop which should last me till next weekend now, with only milk and fruit to buy, and next month should be better. No wholefood wholesale order for a start - I've stocked up on the 74p breadflour!

    Good luck to everyone.

    Hollysan.

  • Week 3 went a little haywire for us as we celebrated our bank charges success with Sunday lunch at the pub £60!!!!! To put it into context, that was 1% of the amount the bank offered, so can we be forgiven?
Total for the week was £113.68.
Was going to be vv good this week until D1 phoned this morning, she came back from Uni (over 500 miles away) for a friends wedding, & so, guess what, another pub lunch........ only £40 this time so strictly short rations for week 4.
  • Last week shop on tuesday - Still under budget and I'm sure we will meet target :)

  • Hi everybody
After having a very expensive week last week, me and OH when together and did a tight family shop on Saturday:T We managed £75.32 in tesco. Which for us four is really quite good and we.re entertaining sister and family Tuesday night. This writing eeverything down really makes you realize where your money goes and how we waste it. Next month I plan to write down all DD too. Think that I'll probably need medical attention then:eek:
My total spend this month is £283.14 out of a £400 budget. So hopefully that means that we should just make it till the end of the month:j .Mind the kids are on holiday now so will be a more expensive week entertaining them. Never mind.
    Good luck everyone

Hello - not logged in for a while but thought I should update my total.
The last total was £89 leaving £11 for the rest of the month - went berserk and spent another £24 last week making a grand total of £113.
The original budget was £100 so I'm over by £13.
Not too bad I suppose as its the first month back on the wagon.
I need to last until Friday with what I have (the official end of my month) which should be OK as I'm working in Germany on Weds/Thurs.

    Must try harder next month!
  • hi, i know its a bit late in the month but i thought better late than never. Id like this months shopping to come in at under £400. So far weve spent £311 and have half term to contend with! I think the cupboards/fridge and freezer are all full..

Last week I spent £79.98.... That included party food(not cake tho) for ds2, 5th birthday was yesterday.

Just put away Tesco delivery and am very pleased with it, £51.18 and sent one sub back so will be £49.28:j All I didn't order was apples and loo roll because last weeks apples were the size of small plums, so wasn't happy and loo roll i can get where i work, nicer than tesco own and cheaper too...so for those two items it will cost an additional £1.80.

Oh I do need rabbit food too - £1.80.
