These are actually 2 litres (3.5 pints) "bottles" rather than 4 pints

The offer, also available online, started yesterday 1st Oct and runs until 6th Nov

I was in Lidl yesterday and was surprised to see a 2 litre at £1.45. I can still get it for 90p at my cornershop! I'd much rather support the local economy anyway even if they did it for the same price.

Thanks for the headsup on Cravendale on offer 2 for £2 again.

I have recently changed to filtered milk which is cheaper. There is one with a purple cap called "the one" which was on a shelf above the other milk and this was £1.03 last week.

I also had a week where I was buying Sainsburys milk for £1.35 but it had a £1 coupon on it. These milk bottle labels come and go very fast so its always worth looking out for them.

Also somewhere on the discount vouchers thread there is a link for a printable 40p coupon for Omega 3 milk valid until December so again this is another option and again cheaper than standard four pinters.

Possibly its a case of actually checking out prices online, making comprehensive lists and using our eyes when we shop rather than just blindly putting the same thing in the trolley each time

  • I do find Iceland milk seems to keep better than Tesco. Tesco milk often goes off before the use by date whereas I've had milk from Iceland that lasts a couple of days beyond the date on the bottle and never goes off before.

I wonder if this is down to the way the milk is processed, or just Tesco staff not correctly following the cold chain?
