Read about someone get done for something similar recently except it was a dangerous driving summons. The idea was the bald tyres made the car dangerous to drive and as they were caught driving a dangerous car (4 bald tyres) the dangerous driving charge stuck.
If they're lucky it might just be a moderate fine and 9 points. 6 points for no insurance (and inflated insurance premiums with that for the future)
4 bald tyres, treated as 1 offence would be 3 points. All your base are belong to us.0 -

You won't get nine points. Eight is the maximum for no insurance and if convicted for that offence he won't get points for the tyres.
You obviously haven't read the whole thread.0 -
If you have one bald tyre or four, you get three points.
If you have good tyres and no insurance, you get six to eight points.
If you have one bald tyre and no insurance, you get six to eight points.
The size of the fine may well differ, though.
I always thought it was 3 points per tyre.0 -

I'll stand by what I said. The maximum number of points he'd get would be eight. He won't leave court with nine and that is what I was replying to.0 -

While the fine is "unlimited", it remains income-based (the maximum is normally 175% of weekly income). I.e. it is limited by the offender's salary.0
