  • im glad to post ive had my money returned also i wanted my contract cancelled and it has been so thats great,a letter of appology and a phone call of appology also,i hope you all get your sorted too.:j
  • I had a direct debit of £6.95 set up with the above outfit, which was fine.

However I noticed yesterday that they took two payments of £49.99 out of my account on the 8th of June, for no reason whatsoever.

Fortunately my bank, Nat West, consider this to be covered under Direct Debit indemnity and have re creditted my account, they have also cancelled all DDs from my account with this outfit. They intend to reclaim the money from Satcov.

    This clearly happens quite often.

How do these characters get away with it?

    Disgraceful.
  • Spotted £65 DD came out of my bank account today.
I have not spoken to anyone from a company of that name ever?! The only ppl who I gave bank details to, who were anything to do with warranties etc for satelite equipment were a company 5 yrs ago called Satelite Direct UK. I only had one lot of DD go out before I cancelled with them, and never heard from them again. Til now! Watch out, they're back in business. My bank were contacted however i was informed I need to fill out an indemnity claim form to proceed. Meanwhile the mysterious DD is cancelled. I called the number my bank had for them, and it just rings and rings and rings. I called another number I found on the net and someone from Satelite Direct answered, said he wasnt the same company but if he took my phone number and IP address, he'd get someone from that company to call me ???? LMAO. Trading Standards are now informed. They must have kept all my details and decided as times are hard, I had to have my warrenty again?! Just hope they know the money they took came straight out of the mouths of my babes :(
Let you know if i get the money bak!

Hi just checked my halifax online statements and found that I had been charged for a non payment of a direct debit today, rang up to query it as I knew that there was no dd's going out today, it was for £65 and it was to satcov 08716641400,luckily there was insufficent funds to pay it. The Halifax have cancelled it and are not charging me. I have never heard of this company and definately did not arranged a dd with them. I am lucky that no funds went out of my account and the halifax aren't charging me. I'm definately gonna keep an extra eye on my account in case it reoccurs.

I have just had a letter from my bank also the halifax saying that a DD has bounced from this exact same company. I have rung the halifax and they have been great and cancelled the DD and wont be charging me. I have sent satellite direct via their website as there is no one is there to answer the phones till monday. We have calls on a regular basis from companies offering a discount on our sky repair cover but they always ask for me when the sky cover we have is in my husbands name and is direct with sky. Neither of us have spoken to any cover company for over six months now and every time one of the ring we contact sky and report them for pretending to be sky. God know where this company got our bank details from to set up the DD but I will be ringing them on monday aksing for compensation for the bank charges (not gonna tell them that the bank is not charging me lol). These companies should be shut down

All those who have had cancelled direct debits re-started by Satellite Direct need to report it to "Consumer Direct",
Not enough people are contacting them, I did yesterday but they are not interested in what is being said in this forum. they will only deal with individual cases. but if they get enough individuals complaining then they will have to listen and take action.
Just because you have cancelled the direct debit now doesn't mean it is over, they can re-start them over and over again, i've cancelled twice.
Ring "Consumer Direct" 08454040506 and help get them stopped.
  • This mob also tried to extract £95 by Direct debit without my permission.I reported it to my bank(RBS) and they have repaid the funds under the DD guarantee.I have also reported the comapny to Consumer Direct. They need stopping
  • this mob just took £6 off me today - phoned the bank to cancel it, and i need to visit the branch tomorrow to fill out a form to claim money back and note it as fraud. from the looks of thing i'll need to keep a close eye on my account from now on......

Same here...£6 taken by DD today by this company even though I have never heard of them and havent taken out any cover on my SKY box for over 5 years. Bank refunded the £6 and cancelled further DD's.

If you have SKY or have ever had SKY, it may be worth checking your bank account for unauthorised DD's.

if you havent signed a contract, as in hand written signature and they havent informed you that theyre taking the money out then theyve taken the money out without your consent. go to the supervisor of your bank branch and tell them that youve had an unauthorised money taken out, and you want a "charge back" or reconsiliation; in other words you want the bank manager to take the money out of their account and to cancel any future direct debits

let me know how it goes, would be nice to see their faces when you guys also get your money back
