Beware of SatCov Direct Debits

I have just found that these 'people' have taken £129.90 out of my account, when they should have taken £12.99:mad::mad:
To say I am not happy would be an understatement. After getting intouch with the bank they have told me I can get my cash back with it been a direct debit. Have tried to get hold of satcover but shocking there is no answer:eek:. Needless to say I have canceled the direct debit.0 -
Looks like I am the latest in a long line of victims. I am already a subscriber to SKY Protect (SKY's own version) and yet today I notice that two amounts of £6 and £49.99 had been taken from my account by SATCOV on the same day.
Following a conversation with my bank it appears that they have taking monthly payments of £6 from my account since May 09.....i should have noticed a long time ago.....but for such small amounts i admit.... it escaped me. How ever the larger amount brought it to my attention today and i called them up.
After waiting 40 mins (on an 0870 number!!) to speak to a human being........I got a soleless android who suggested I may have "forgotton" giving my account details over the phone........! I assured him that I never give out that information...nor would i be foolish enough to take out a cover plan for services I aready had a cover plan for!! he also dribbled on about the fact that the £49.99 was a data error???
Anyway I have cancelled my DD and will be writing to Satcom HO and my bank are also pursuing from their end............I am still livid!0 -
Wow looks like alot of people have been scammed.
Just contact your bank, they should sort it out!0 -
Have talked to the bank and have some forms to fill in to get things moving.
Still no answer on the phones or by e-mail from satcov:mad::mad:0 -
Have you considered making a claim via the small claims procedure? I have already started a claim on behalf of another individual who had over £100 taken from her account. She did not sign up to anything and has no idea how Satellite Direct or SATCOV got hold of her bank details to set up the direct debit.
If you want help to bring your claim then feel free to contact me and I will do my very best to help you.0 -
I am having the same problem with this company Satcov. I have had a policy with them for about a year. Paying £6.50 a month. I checked my bank statement last week to find they have changed the direct debit to £65 per month with out my permition or autherisation and have taken £65 out of my bank account this month. needless to say I am very angry. I have tried contacting Sat Cov but have had no luck. I contacted my bank which is natwest and they say there is nothing thing they can do apart from cancel direct debit. Is this true isn't this covered under the direct debit garantee shouldn't the bank be able to get my money back. What should I do how can I get my money back. Any advice would be much appreciated0

They took money from my friend when she never even signed up with them. The banks will not help. As a trainee solicitor, i decided to commence my own legal action against them. Within two days of satellite direct receiving court forms, they issued a cheque as full and final settlement of the matter.
PM me with your email address if you would like me to help with the court process0 -
I had a similar situation with the BBC, and my bank did not refund me.
Under the direct debit garuntee you are covered, and should get an instant refund of the charges, I rang up natwest to complain they simply said "go to the companies" i then rang up 5 times, the 5th person was helpful, i did scare her and said i would tell the finicial obdusman (Cant spell it!) and she put a complaint through, i got a refund the very next day
So keep calling the bank.[Deleted User] wrote:I am having the same problem with this company Satcov. I have had a policy with them for about a year. Paying £6.50 a month.
