You are working part time in a supermarket while training to be a solicitor?0 -
Indeed, up until last month I was working part time in a supermarket alongside my Legal Practice Course.....very few of us are recession proof at the moment.
The easiest way to bring a claim is via the online service - https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp . You simply register and type in the details of your claim in the relevant boxes. If anyone would like individual help with the process then let me know0 -
Most interesting about SatCov: I too have had £49.99 direct-debited twice from my account without my authorisation. I have written to the bank and cancelled the DD and instructed them to contact me first if SatCov try to call anything down again.0

I checked my bank statement and found that the previous £5 dd had become £6.50 and there was also one for £49.99. I rang them on their 0871 revenue generating number and had to hold on for some time of course. I spoke to a nice man in billing who, with no real queries reduced the payment back to £5 with a month free because I had not received the increased payment letter!!!
He also said he had put in a refund request for the £49.99 as it was a mistake!!! I will check carefully to see that it is returned. When it is back I will probably ring and cancel.0 -
same story that has happenned to us all,40.00 pounds taken this month by direct debit, instead of 4.00 pounds big difference ,at first i thought it was a mistake ,having contacted them without any joy of getting through ,if you needed to call up for service what is the point if they either leave you on hold or are just continually engaged?no point..i sent an email..about my missing money ..it came back..there is something really wrong with this company avoid at all costs, they dont inform you by letter as they are supposed to with change of any amounts to pay, they just help their selfs which is deffinatly not on..i also had 72 .00 pounds go missing in october ,the bank ..yes again natwest..say its nothing to do with them..which is rubbish,i have taken advise you must stand your ground ,you are covered ,put in writting and demand your money refund through the direct debit scheme, they are liable, its our own money, seems some banks are more awilling than natwest to just put it right as they are surposed too, have cancelled dd,sent recorded letter to demand answers, also to state my cancellation, put in writting to bank for recovery of my money, now am waiting for replies,i hope this can help anyone who is in the same situation and not sure as what to do ,one thing for sure there is alot of people in the same hole, anyone had a refund as yet please let me know..cheers..:money:0

does anyone know what a reinstated direct debit means?0

Putting my 83 yr old father finances into shape found he had DD with SatCov for £12.99 pm. £129.90 taken in March 09. Called SatCov, always engaged. Called Yorkshire Bank who said he had DD with this Company going back to 2005 but they only have last 6 months info available. They said not their problem TOLD them under the Direct Debit Scheme there is the Indemnity Claim system where they have to refund immediately and pursue Sat Cov. They did try to get out of this but in the end agreed the refund. All I need to do now is go back over the last 4 years to see how many times Sat Cov have ripped him off. Hope this helps0

Just a quick update, I has been over 2 months now since Sat cover took £65 from my account without permition. I phoned many times and they finally agreed to refund my money and said it would be in my account with in 7 days. That was on the 13th march, 2 month later and I still have not recieved my money back. I cancelled the direct debit and have written letter after letter of complaint asking for my money back but have had no response. I have contacted natwest several more times and they are still refusing to do any thing. So I don't know what to do at the moment I guess It looks like ill have to take the small claims court route. Can any one tell me. ( when saterlite direct took the money from my account with out permition they caused me to go over drawn and I ended up getting a £38 bank charge. Can I demand that they pay me back for this too as I incurred this due to them?
One final thing Meadowlane104 reinstated direct debit means the comany has re activated your direct debit active or has set a new direct debit up. Hope this helps0
