Happy Easter Sunday everyone.
I had a voucher for £5 off £50 for Waitrose, and although I do not usually shop there, only have a card for the free-ish coffee, I needed to buy a birthday present and some groceries for Mum so ended up spending £57 odd after the coupon. Groceries for me was £17.01, and this included a bottle of wine for £4.99 and some nice fish for a fish pie. I made the fish pie last night and there is a portion left for me after my late shift tonight. DS3 is going to his Dad's for a meal.
I only bought Easter eggs for the grandchildren, but made a chocolate cake with mini eggs on top for DS3 and me.
Spent £5 in the market on blueberries and raspberries and the rest in various supermarkets.
Hope you all have a great day, I am looking forward to being back home after work tonight, on the sofa in front of the telly watching Maigret on +1 and scoffing my supper.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0 -
I'm not really in control this month as hubby has doing shopping trips which never usually happens. His estimated £15 spend last week turned out to be twice that when i checked the bank statement. I'm adding that on now and also a spend of £10 on some fruit and some emergency Easter eggs as yesterday some friends kindly invited us round for lunch today and they have kids so it would seem rude to turn up without chocolate. Luckily we already had a bottle of prosecco to take for the adults who will appreciate that far more!

Oops, i've really fallen off the wagon this month. Time to get back on it (havent i said this before?).
I am trying to eat out of the cupboards. So right now i am looking at what i can do with loads of beans. I've decided on a veggie chilli, as i also have some soya mince in the pantry from when i was a veggie.
That'll do 2 dinners, 1 with rice and 1 with leftovers stuffed inside peppers.
I've written my meal plan for next week, and i shouldnt have to buy anything else apart from maybe bread or milk.0 -
I'll be joining you next month, but I'm enjoying seeing how you are all managing. It's just me with visiting family and friends to feed sporadically.
I run a pretty tight ship, with not too many un-necessary buys but I'm hoping that having to Declare All on here will make me think twice. I have a very limited and somewhat sporadic self employed income.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Does anyone know where I can get money off a first time Ocado shop.0 -
You could also buy some wraps and have some mexican chilli wraps. Aldi veg is 19p & 29p, so you could get 4 packs for 96p and make bean stew/curry. mmmm - think I should do some of that myself. Easier said than done, I know.

Thanks SD
I think i'll make those for lunches next weekOr maybe bean burritoes
