Hi there  There's an older thread on getting ink from shirts here. I'll add this thread later to keep suggestions together.

DS has come home tonight with an ink stain on his sweatshirt top. What is the best way to remove this? It is a fresh stain, only done today if that makes any difference to the best way to remove it.0

For biro ink stains soak the area in milk. No kidding.0

My daughter came home from school today with a massive black ink stain all over the front of her brand new (bought last week) school shirt.
I've tried:
hairspray...only removed some of it
vanish oxy action and then a 40 degree wash...removed some more of it
an hours soak in bleach and then a 90 degree wash
and its still not all out!
Have put the shirt back in the machine for another 90 degree wash but if that doesn't work I'm out of ideas
All suggestions gratefully received, otherwise I'm going to have to fork out for another shirt (which I'm loathe to do as they were expensive-ish)0 -
You've probably spent almost as much on hairspray, vanish, bleach and a 90 degree washes as a new shirt would cost! Admit defeat and buy a new one - I learned very quickly with DS to get fairly cheap Tesco ones as this happens all the time.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

Have you tried the green laundry soap? I find that that is better than anything else with stains. Might be worth a try, but I know that kids school shirts are pretty cheap now from most places.;)0

pop it in bright sunshine for as long as you can when it's wet after washing, this plus maybe a couple more washes followed by sunshine should help get rid of the last.0
