Well I can officially say that I am having a 'mare' of a day:o
Started with my brand new shower that I had in before Christmas within adapted wetroom has gone on the blink. Feeling really grubby but going to see if it is working in at minute. Definately have to get someone out.
Just found out that my daughter's school have badly messed up on a course and the headmaster didn't know a thing about it:mad:.some of the kids are relying on this course for one of their grades-they have had to turn their first choice uni option down. Fortunately my daughter sent her work off early, it's come back with low marks, when they were told that they were all working at a higher mark than they were. They have been given a chance to make corrections but sounds like an almighty mess is being sorted out.
Having to put in an official complaint about one school dept-it's already got a well known bad reputation
Finally completed all paperwork and did some extra but those real life bits that have to be sorted, sometimes they just wear you down.
Carriei also live by the sea, river and woods. I think the Ikea voucher is a great idea
Aims for the rest of the day
-try and get a shower
-run Hoover over, the kitchen floor looks awful
Well onwards and upwards, hope everyone else is having a good Monday xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

BTW, what do you think about the 'heinz' tom soup recipe... Could I just blend it then heat in the micro when needed...? Seems unnecessary heating it up first when I then need to cool it to put in a tub for lunch next day... :think:0

Hello Monday People,
Shall I start with what definitely ISN'T money saving? 9 phone calls (so far!) to try & sort out the problem with my prescription.......& a 10th one later today to see if it's resolved. Very frustrating, although at least I understand what the problem is now.
Anyway, some bits of frugal activity too, I'm pleased to say:
*Usual energy saving measures - 2 baths from 1 lot of hot water, managed to get an hour of cheap tariff electricity for a load of laundry first thing & another load will go on timer tonight. Laundry pegged out to dry for free.
*Rubber pork duties.....the YS pork joint we bought on Sat did roast dinner for 4 yesterday, will do the same again for 2 tonight, 2 portions of stew, 2 portions of stroganoff & a sandwich.
*Sorted out latest selection of random gifts from my Mum - a dozen empty jam jars, 2 packs of pretty paper napkins, 4 expensive cat dinners, 1 box of tissues, a stack of clean napkins wombled from various cafes, big pile of magazines, 2 pots of Spring bulbs, a pair of sandals to sell on ebay & a £10 note which came with strict instructions to pay it into our Loan Pay Down Fund............
*so......Paid £10 into LPDF.....as instructed!
*Checked our lump sum partial repayment of £2000 had been paid off the loan, as today was the scheduled day for this to happen. Yes, it's been paid & the £7,500 sum we borrowed for buying our car last August is now a sum which begins with a £4 instead of a £7. Yay!! Progress. Updated signature.....already saved up £634 towards the next lump sum repayment & of course the monthly dd is going out every month too, so we can really see it going down now.
*Did a few surveys & cashed in my Ipsos points for another £10 voucher. Lots of Onepoll surveys around today & several of the were 20p ones instead of the usual 10p. I think I should soon be receiving 2 new products to test.
*Finished the last page of a longer survey project with Ipsos.....that should be £15 when they've checked it.
*Paid 2 small spends off the CC - only used for points for vouchers so no effect on the budget.
*Entered 1 prize draw.
*Photograph 3 items for ebay & handwash one of them.
*Sock knitting
*No downstairs heating on until 5.30 pm.
Re raspberries - I know they are treated differently depending on variety, as Dawn says. I can't really advise as I do grow some fruit (apples, pears, greengages, blackberries & rhubarb!) but not raspberries. I love eating them & my friend who has an allotment gets a lovely crop from hers (she has a lot) & makes fab jam, but I like to keep my veggie beds flexible so I can chop & change what crops I grow, so I haven't so far committed a whole bed to a permanent soft fruit crop.
OK, time to put the kettle on & see what cat is doing......can hear something ominous which sounds as though it may involve claws......

Wow clf that is impressive. Do you work with a PT or have you got there yourself? I love weights but am very much a beginner. Oh and a perfect solution with the tea-set.
Home from job no. 1. Reluctantly about to start with job no. 2 in a minute. Bath and shower scrubbed while I was in it, floors run over with carpet sweeper, bins emptied, loos swished, one load of washing in - one already on the line. 15k done on the spinning bike at home for free.
Shepherds pie for tea, the boys seem to have eaten nothing but junk all weekend so they will be sitting at the table for a proper meal!
Oh and the DW is not getting things clean. I washed all the filters but could only find some malt vinegar to clean it with so I have chucked that in and set it going on a quick wash!
Work to do. Sigh.0 -
I almost picked up a few of the Lidl raspberry bushes for £2.79 each on impulse as I walked by...couldn't decide if were a good buy as I don't know anything about 'quality' plants. As it will involve digging up some of my lawn (which I paid to have done when I moved in a couple of years ago) I want to make sure I am doing it right. I am now obsessing over raspberry growing on the internet - lots of prep from what I can tell.Happiness is wanting what you have...0

DawnW, when you say all summer - from which month? Online it says July but in the long run I think I would like them a bit earlier.
Yes, it depends on the year a bit, but end of June / beginning of July, overlapping with the strawberries and then going on till October or November. The summer ones are a bit earlier. They aren't that much trouble to plant btw, just dig nice and deep, add a bit of compost or well rotted manure and allow room to spread the roots out. Cover and tread to firm the soil, and water in. If it is dry over the next few weeks, give them a can of water now and then. See my earlier post re pruning. Mine grow against the fence, at the back of deep border, which also contains a rhubarb plant, herbs and flowersThey just get on with it really, though I do give them a dressing of compost each winter, and a sprinkle of general fertiliser in the spring when they start to appear.

Kind of half-way house. I go to a Crossfit gym. All Crossfit gyms are run as the owners see fit but mine is very good.
The workout sessions are done in small groups (maximum 12) and we normally do something like:- Dynamic warmup
- Strength training
- Gymnastic training
- HIIT workout
The advantage of it is that the coaches do all the programming, so you never have to worry about what the best thing to do is. I also get 4 personal training sessions per year with an individual training plan included with the price.
Also because the classes are small, the coaches are always watching you and helping. plus everyone is really nice and it's fun to do in groups!
I'm paying £70 per month which often horrifies people but I can go to as many sessions as I like (currently do between 3 and 5 per week). I think it's def worth the money. I've never felt betterLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Evening all
Just popping in with a quick hello in the 40 minute gap between getting home from work and taking ds swimming.
There really is nothing to report other than I'm still mad busy at work so no real mse stuff. Possibly a nsd coming up - depends if I can resist the lure of Mr S after swimming.
I've done a full teaching day, written a set of reports, done some data analysis.
Then got home, hoovered, washed dishes and put a load of washing on.
Bit boring really...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
