Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

    Small things today.

    1. Banked a £20 cheque for DS.
    2. Took food out with me and DD for the day.
    3. NSD. I have spent £2.60 on a coffee and £3 on travel but I was given a £20 tip yesterday so it's free money ;)
    4. Park play for entertainment with DD.
    5. Reused a jiffy bag to send a card and present
    6. Dinner is the Ys chicken legs I cooked yesterday. Only paid 34p for 6 legs so pretty good. Will do wedges as well.
    7. Walked lots so saved on travel.
    8. Checked off all receipts from banking.
    9. Checked my Noddle report. I know it's unimportant but my score had dipped last month due to applying for a new current account and a new business account. Back up again this month so pleased with that.
    10. Wearing one of my new £2 charity shop tops. Bought 4 for £8 at the weekend. Can't be bad. Threw two old holey ones out to balance the incomers.

Hope everyone is well. I may need to pick your brain CCL on child safeguarding policy at school.... I am not happy regarding another child who has now hit mine on three occasions. I've requested a meeting...But it would be good to know our rights and what should be in place.

BTW, what do you think about the 'heinz' tom soup recipe... Could I just blend it then heat in the micro when needed...? Seems unnecessary heating it up first when I then need to cool it to put in a tub for lunch next day...

I don't see why not in theory as everything in it is already cooked. Assuming you use tinned carrots. I tend to use fresh as I already have them in and I have to buy tinned especially iyswim so I always cook mine to cook the carrots.

I'd say try once, you haven't anything to loose, if it's not nice cook the rest up and cool and use as normal and you've only had one bad bowl.

Bob, sorry to hear that your ds has had this problem. Does the school website have an anti bullying policy document and complaints procedure document? ours does, I found this helpful - (although the school hadn't followed its own procedure with my son - but that's a whole other can of worms! ) helped me feel prepared when I spoke to them.

Good advise, as ever from LL if it's not published on the website ask them for it in advance of the meeting. Hope your son is ok.
  • I was going to say you should be able to see your schools policy online, I believe they are all obliged to have it available. Then look at whether it has been followed if not then flag it up as a complaint and request an investigation

FYI Dawn yes that it an autumn collection - I thought it seemed a lot simplier and I can wait a bit for them to produce also they will produce this year. do you think it's worth £20 though???

Before reading the thread about autumn and summer plants I saw some on offer whilst out today for £3 for two plants. Guessing they might not be up to much but worth the punt. However, how do I know what they are as it doesn't say on them?

1Luckylady thank you for the advice, sorry you have your own woes going on in that department.

PF & Determined I'm going to check for it tonight. It's so hard to know when enough a enough. Boys do get Physical occasionally and I have always raised mine to not be telling tales over every little thing, and he doesn't. So I have just talked to his teacher about it all so far, but now it's time to escalate it. Thanks again.

It should say what variety they are? If the variety is named it is fairly easy to find out whether they are summer or autumn varieties.

It seems quite a big collection, so what, about £2 each? Sounds ok, you would only need to buy them once. Make sure they aren't all shrivelled up though - it it a reputable nursery you are looking at? Lidls, pound shop etc plants are fine if you get them soon after they have arrived in the shop. They get neglected though, nobody looks after them, and are very little use after a while, but sadly they still seem to try to sell them at the same price :(
