Thanks Dawn, have been told autumn bliss are good and on the RHS site looks like you can stretch their season a bit. It says they could grow 2m high but I thought Autumn fruit ones didn't need much in way of support. That seems very tall! But should fruit this year...how exciting! Bit worried about them having thorns though. My garden is long and narrow so they will have to be tied to wires. I think I am going to use some of the money I have aside for 'fun' as my DD will love planting these. I mentioned the idea to her after school and she squealed! She does love her raspberries!

Sorry for the raspberry gabble...the idea of growing something always get me a bit over excited and then I am sorely disappointed when they fail.

I'd say try once, you haven't anything to loose, if it's not nice cook the rest up and cool and use as normal and you've only had one bad bowl.determined_new_ms wrote: »la E loads of ppl on the feed yourself for £1 per day group don't bother cooking it, just bung it all together, blend then eat when wanted
Yeah, that's what I was kinda thinking... Good to hear other peeps have done it! Thanks ladies. Definitely going to try it next week. It's so handy. OH takes a sandwich to work but says the soup fills him up as a wee extra. I just take soup and it is the cheapest lunch I've ever had!! I can just imagine another couple of days and he'll be bored of it though!0 -
Morning - feeling a bit flat today so hope that feeling shakes itself off!
Purps - I have entered into a new level
I became aware that a$da do a price guarantee where you check your receipt and if it is not 10% cheaper than the other main 4 they give you a voucher for the difference. I have then picked up receipts I see and so far have had £16, £7, £5 in voucher and a few that are up to 50p :money: It does feel like a step too far when I'm picking them up though!
Off work today :j plans for today:
* [STRIKE]debating whether to get dressed and go to the lottie for an hour... [/STRIKE]I did :j finished off the bed and measured the 4 beds that are ready :j have started to plan what will go where :T
* sow seeds hoping to do [STRIKE]leek[/STRIKE], sprouts, [STRIKE]calabrese[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cauliflower[/STRIKE], aubergines today
* think I'll walk madam to the park this morning & [STRIKE]she has ballet this afternoon[/STRIKE] we didn't go to the park, she played with a bowl of water and her toys in the garden while I did the 1st part of cleaning the greenhouse
* get batch cooked lasagna sauce out of freezer for tea
*[STRIKE] soup for lunch for me. Not sure about madam yet...[/STRIKE]
* bake banana bread to use up brown bananas
* put away mountain of washing & do another load
* really need to take some steps for my masters haven't done any for a couple of weeks. Think I can do 2 tasks for it today
* might be able to eek out another NSD today making 4 in a row
* finish working out cc statement and pay it off
Ok that's all I need to do. Happy Tuesday guys x

Morning all

I am feeling a bit flat too DNMS, but it isn't raining at the moment, and I hope to perk up shortly with more coffee! Today I have / will:
Washed hair and left it to dry naturally (as if I would bother to do anything else :rotfl:)
HG rhubarb from freezer with this morning's porridge and yogurt, saves using fresh fruit that I have to buy
Dog walks x 2 (DS + dog are back, so we are a 2 dog family again ) Done
Fold up dry washing and put away Done
Look to see if I have any more tomato seeds to sow, as DD told me little GD had a disaster yesterday with the ones I gave to them :rotfl: None in the box. I might take GD to the pound shop tomorrow to buy some, then sow with her (again!)
Maybe buy some compost for the garden pots, the mangetout can go in now, and they grow in a big pot
Done, sowed mangetout in a big pot, planted up 2 strawberry hanging baskets from the plants I have overwintered, and OH and I planted the seed potatoes (nice and deep, in case of frost
) Gardeing cheered me up, as always
Fill bird feeder, as I notice it is nearly empty. The birds have been ignoring it all winter, but have now discovered it, apparently! Done
Put some sales stock away and put the box back in the garage Box hasn't made its way to the garage yet
General tidy round Done
Check what needs using in the fridge Done
Check banks Done, and our moneysaving efforts over the last year have served us well. This means that we are able to help 2 eldest grandsons out a little, with stuff that is going on
Check for surveys Not found any yet today
Received stamps from RM surveys, plus a presentation pack of fancy stamps, which I immediately listed on ebay!
Leftovers to use up for lunch Done
Shepherds pie to make for dinner DS and OH did most of it
Pulled some forced rhubarb, which I cooked for dessert, and some baby carrots, which I let little GD plant last autumn, despite it being really too late. I went to clear the pot, and there was a good handful of tiny carrots. Washed them and cooked with frozen French beans to go with the shepherds pie
More coffee needed before dog walk #1 I think!0 -
Hi everyone
I know that feeling DNMS - I feel the same today. Anyway...will have a long day at work to take my mind off things.
I've been getting on at OH again about his job ending soon. I know he will be quite lax about applying for new ones so come June/July when he has no wages and my bonus gets paid I won't be able to do what I want to do (pay off a cc/save it) I will just need to use it for bills. I feel like the enabler!
I'm still not feeling v motivated by the garden - wish I had some of this greenfingeredness about me. When I eventually felt like getting out in the garden last year it was too late to plant anything worthwhile. My garden is like a horrible bog so not very enticing...
So...let's try some positive small thingalings:
-cheapo overnight oats
-packed lunches
-shopping with a list at lunch
-free activities- walking, yoga, meditation, reading
-making myself a granny square cushion cover
-using yarn from stash...I wanted to get more of one of the balls but as it won't be the same colour batch anyway I've convinced myself I can do without and go for a contrast... :A
-try not to be miserable the whole day at work - July bonus is still in sight...0 -
Morning
Sorry to hear about people feeling flat.
Determined- I think your price match wombling is brilliant!
I am annoyed myself as my tablet appears to have died! It is only 2 years old.
Left it on charge as usual and it won't turn on at all this morning.
I think I can get a new one for free as because its essential for work I took the warrantee. I know generally they are a dreadful swizz but I run card payments through mine so cant be without it.
I spent last night reading up all the policies my school has on bullying and safe guarding. So at least preparing for battle if needs be.
Have a good day all.

Dawn & La E going to the allotment and digging for 45 minutes seems to have lifted my mood. Therefore I prescribe you doing do something you love for 45 minutes and you;ll be right as rain

Bob annoying re the tablet. Ours did that in December but righted itself. We thought it was dead so left it and then oh tried it again and it just came on. You might be just as lucky
good for you re the school. No way I'd not kick up a fuss if madam was getting a hard time xDF as at 30/12/16
