As an earlier poster rightly said, this kind of thread, though intended to be informative, is the same as any other thread about which-is-the-best-antivirus?

Problem is that every computer's config and every computer user's behaviour is different, so what one person likes based on their experience of a VPN, another person will loathe based on their experience of that same VPN.

The configuration issue is particularly worth keeping in mind, because though there'll be many thousands out there who're perfectly happy with the oh-so warm-and-friendly TunnelBear, I ultimately gave up trying to resolve the connectivity glitches it periodically provoked on my system. Doesn't mean TB is no good, merely that the bear didn't play nicely on my particular system.

Anyway. I'm not going to offer a "best VPN" recommendation. All I will say is that I've used several services over the years, but then in November last year opted to use the Canadian VPN, Windscribe:

    https://windscribe.com/

I liked its technology / encryption, its no-logs policy, its nice little desktop app, its speed, and its range of country servers. I also liked its in-built firewall / kill switch. In December, I liked it even more when it was offered at $1 a month for 2017 -- it seems Windscribe comes up discount promotions two or three times a year.

Will it suit everyone? I've no idea. It's been criticised on at least one VPN review website for privacy concerns, i.e.: that because it's based in Canada, it may have to provide user details to security and law enforcement agencies if required. Doesn't bother me as I don't go to bed at night, worrying over such remote prospect, though I appreciate that others may be more paranoid.

As to service reliability, 90% of the time there's been no discernible difference (discernible, because I don't spend my life, checking upload/download speeds) between using the VPN and not using it.

As to support, I had cause to email Windscribe just once, received an acknowledgment immediately, and then a comprehensive answer less than 24 hours after that. Turned out that it was all down to my own stupidity anyway, though Windscribe was courteous enough to dance around that and even apologise for the inconvenience (which I myself had caused.)

Finally. . . Nope. I have no connection with Windscribe, its owners, nor even, er, Canada.

    Hope this helps.

Well, I am an Express VPN user so far, the best is reliant on your purpose of using VPN.

Would you really trust a reviewer who doesn't even appear to know what VPN service they are using?

Well, I am amazed to see that Hidemyass which served as the best VPN Service Provider is not on the list. I am using HMA for a couple of years and found that it has amazing speed with user-friendly environment plus I recommend this service to my friend's list also and got good reviews as well. Below mentioned are the details with respect to its services.

    Definitely a memory problem:

    https://www.igeeksblog.com/best-vpn-apps-iphone-ipad/

where, four days ago, the OP forgot all about Express VPN, sorry, HideMyAss VPN, oops, and praised, instead: TunnelBear VPN, though then became confused anew the day after:

    http://www.addictivetips.com/vpn/best-vpn-iphone/

and sang the praises of, er, Nord VPN.

I think the OP should be put in charge of this thread in view of so wide a simultaneous experience of so many different VPN providers. :)

Been with PIA for 4 years, think this will be my last. My issue is lack of support, or quick support.

I was going in to hospital for about 4 days, so 3 days before set up manky old laptop up to run Mint, and pia. PIA would not work. It was straight forward install the only difference i encrypted the home drive (ticked that box), and I could not get PIA to work.

Ended up wiping the whole laptop and reluctantly installed no encryption, and it worked, but by then my pia query had already been sent off in hope I would learn how to fix it.

PIA also sponsor Mint, so thought great. With Linux i'm a n00b, so I make easy n00b errors, However 18 days later got an email asking me to supply them with more details, but by that time I no longer needed that laptop anymore and out of hospital to convalesce.

Oh dear here we go again get along guys, this forum is going to the dogs again or do I mean further down the dog track. Why do people feel the need to snipe or justify their opinion rather than someone else's.
Why don't you start your own thread with a title with "My !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is bigger than yours" oh the !!!s are deliberate because the forum does not allow titles with My "ego/opinion/knowledge" is better "than yours"
Get a life or find a better forum ... I will now use one of my alter-egos to report my own post as spam/offensive and call on some of the many helpful posters to do the same.
