So... the gorgeous weather goes on and on, Harry and Meghan are safely married, I have been car booting and bought a dolls' house. This was totally unplanned but is a differently decorated version of one my Mum cherished, and which is now my sister's. I have the one my Dad made for me so I really didn't think of having another but it was practically being given away. I also bought a couple of books for 50p a go. It's going to take a bit of doing up, as is my own, but that can be done gradually. I then bought felt to put under mine as I noticed it's starting to mark the surface beneath it, and some filler because the paint is peeling and revealing cracks.
I've given DH the remainder of my housekeeping money for the food shopping as he bought fish & chips for us and the two younger children, both of whom happened to be in at some point today.
I had a sudden energy slump this afternoon and haven't really recovered so I haven't repainted the shed or made a cake as I'd intended.

I hope you feel less tired soon Cherry. Your body usually lets you know when it needs rest. The dolls houses sound lovely

I got over 8 hours last night so, not surprisingly, am feeling better. Never known such hay fever, though! I don't get it particularly badly but this year it's gone on for weeks and the hay fever tablets don't help me to be less sleepy.
Now a word about wombling... most of my wombling seems to be reclaiming points on a loyalty card but occasionally lost coins go in there too. Yesterday there was a five pence piece, but DH saw a tenner in the car park! He handed it in to the shop and has been told that if no one picks it up, it's his. He reckoned it may not get picked up but you never know: £10 makes all the difference in many lives so if it can go back to its owner, all well and good. Then this morning I found £1 while walking, and a little later five euro cents. The cents will go in my euros purse.
I'm off to do some cooking.

A couple of NSDs and a broken arm later... here I am again! I came down some steps faster than I meant to so I'm all strapped up and awaiting an op on the damage, with quite a lot of time off work looming. Annoyingly the new CC still hasn't shown up - not that I'm in a position to use it - but they still have a couple of days in hand.
I did a bit more financial reading (The Millionaire Next Door) but it's full of American terms so I'm a bit lost so far. We have also found someone else to give a quote for work on Mum's house, a new neighbour is reputedly interested in buying part of the land and I've just had a call from someone whose daughter may be interested in the house! Just when I'm in no position to do anything practical but maybe that's as well as I'd only stress.
Got some shopping once this evening: it's amazing how many things are hard to cook with one hand!

I'm remarkably pain free thanks Honeysucklelou2. There was no point staying at hospital (according to the doctor) so I'm home for now. I'm hobbling a bit as my foot is bruised but at least I'm semi-mobile. I even did the washing and enjoyed the feeling of success when I managed to hang it all on the line! Finding out what I can and can't do is interesting. I know DH is having to do a fair amount for or instead of me so I'll lessen the load on him as much as I can, besides which it gives me a sense of purpose. We have cancelled some plans for this weekend but we'll remake them at some point.
Being out in this gorgeous sun makes me feel good so I'm slowly getting round watering various plants with a tiny can that has a long spout and reaches nicely into pots I can't easily get to.
Funnily, typing with one hand is quite tiring but I can do things at my own pace so that doesn't matter. I already have lots of plans for my sick leave - after all most of me is (miraculously) unhurt.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh no sorry about your arm . How long will the plaster be on? Will it be six weeks?
Good news about the interest in the land and house though, I hope that turns into something.

I'm guessing the plaster will be six weeks but we'll see how it goes. My foot has gone from puffy with emerging bruises to more flexible and substantially purple!
I haven't bought anything today but I'm planning on indulging in dolls' house wallpaper at some point... got to justify being a property owner some how.
Talking of which, the lovely chap who rescued Mum's roof in the past has called in and cleared the gutters - and won't let me pay him! He doesn't think it will need more work but he says we won't know for sure till the weather changes. And to think we had a quote for £1,400 for the same work! Mind you it could still be costly if there's hidden damage.
I did a bit more financial reading, this time about shares. I was getting quite keen till I remembered they are generally bought in wodges with more money than I want to gamble with. I don't see myself as a trader, at least not in any substantial way, but I would quite like to have a few shares in companies I believe in. I might yet inherit some my Dad had and which passed to Mum but I happen to know that company is doing rather badly now.
See what mischief I contemplate when I can't get on with starting a new savings account! I think the CC people only have till tomorrow to get the PIN to me, unless someone has collected the post and put things on top of it (always possible round here).
The other thing that may well happen tomorrow is the date for my operation. It could be middle of next week at this rate due to the Bank Holiday.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
