DH is doing a super job looking after me thanks! And yes, sick pay is pretty good for I think 6 months - though I should be back at work long before that.

Nothing to report in the way of spending today. Still waiting for a date to repair my arm... We have avoided these thunderstorms and flooding and the weather is still beautiful. I've spent quite a lot of time looking into restoring old dolls' houses but not spent anything on it yet. I did buy an ebook but that was from a gift voucher so it doesn't quite count.

Hope you ae all having a good BH weekend?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh cherry. Sorry to read about your arm. I hope it's not too painful and you get your op asap.
I love dolls houses. I used to want to shrink to live in mine which was stupid because I would have just been living in a house.
It would be a lovely project to focus on. 1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Hello Cherry

Just had a quick catch up being offline for a while and ...OH dear - sorry about your arm, Hope the op date comes through quickly. Last thing you needed. Hope that means you can slow down and take the foot off the pedal for a bit - enforced rest! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
Love the dolls house project! I bought one for DD many years ago - we were meant to do it up beautifully only we never got round to much for than a basic paint over. We still have it and we have been talking about doing it up together
I had a friend who did one for herself (she only had a son, no daughter) and it was beautiful, she made clay fruit bowls with fruit in them, all painted up beautifully , everything down to the minutest detail.... its one of my ambitions to do the same for/with DD.

Nothing terribly exciting today: we went to a car boot sale and didn't buy anything, then DH got some groceries and we went home for lunch. My foot is playing up (I heard a crack last night and was all prepared for a delayed break as happened to my mum once, but this morning it's just tender, no extra bruising) so I've added a bandage. The arm is behaving very nicely. We had a call from the hospital to say I'm on the list for an upper limb specialist and they may be able to fit me in tomorrow... or not.

DS and I are trying to work out if upper limb specialists do humeruses (humeri?) and femurs, or simply arms.
The hardest thing is... washing my hair. Thankfully it can go a few days and next time it's due the arm should be secured.
I'm thinking of doing a re-run of the old joke about playing the piano but only if the surgeon is the jokey type and I happen to remember. 'Doctor, will I be able to drive once my cast comes off?' (Insert qualified positive comment from doctor). Me: 'That's great, I've never been able to drive before!'
Spending-wise, I have followed TOPM's precedent and ordered a lap tray (hers is a desk). Should make meal times easier for the next few weeks.
DH is doing the shopping for now so there won't be much housekeeping showing up for a while: it can go in my spreadsheet as £40 a week which is my official share as I'm intending to keep eating.
Spends:
household £10.97
MS stuff:
bought nothing at the car boot sale
cheap tinned tomatoes and jar of peppers from discount shop
Nine coins in my purse so nothing for the 10th coin savings!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Just go for the joke anyway. :rotfl:

Home safe, well and patched up! Super staff team, and I don't think I've ever had so many specialist people making time for me in one morning - 2 surgeons, an unknown number of doctors and nurses, 2 physios, an OT, a pharmacist, the lady who makes coffee, the lady who cleans, a volunteer cheerer-upper and some students.
I'm feeling a bit tremulous from the anaesthetic still so I'll be off to bed soon. Pain relief is very good so no qualms there so far.
I can't help thinking what a 'co-incidence' it was that this happened after the early shifts that I find so tiring, and only a day after DH and I had been discussing giving up some work hours.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
