It's been pouring steadily most of the day, so no car boot spends this morning. The afternoon was more of a drizzle so we went shopping for a wallet for DH (£25 instead of the £5.99 in the other shop, but it's nice and looks very solidly made). I also got garden twine so DH can tie my plants back - they are being a bit exuberant over the path to the front door.

Lastly, some grocery shopping - we are more or less on budget this week. I don't know down to the detail.

And some news: DS1 and DDiL have chosen to move out of the house they're selling early in order to keep the chain going - their new place won't be ready for months so they're coming to live with us! Not for a few weeks yet though. They are having DS2's room, he is having his sister's (let's hope she doesn't need to come back for a bit!) and most of their stuff is going in storage. We've yet to work out the logistics of things like food. They have offered to make a financial contribution but we don't need it as such - I have suggested they help out instead. DS1 is a natural-born decorator (not by profession, he just loves it and is good with it) so we might just get ahead with that. I'm clueless even when I've got both arms, and DH struggles with it and only gets a small amount of time to do the work.

Oh, and I'm back to typing with two hands! Not for long and plenty of mistakes but it's such a good feeling.

Just caught up with you and what an eventful time you've had!!

Glad the op on the arm went well and it's healing nicely. Enjoy your time off work, would be good if the sun shines most days for you.

I'd start making a list of decorating for DS to do while he's living with you - make the most of him :)

Trust me, I have! :D Actually when he was here the other day he took a photo of a corner which will be awkward to paper so he can get advice on how to tackle it. He's always been someone who could set himself at a project and everything else goes by the wayside, so I'm very happy that he looks like making our decorating a project over the summer!

So, NSD again yesterday, and today I've set up new insurance for Mum's old house which will be £431.60 for 12 months from today (from the estate). They are wanting some updating done on locks which will be another £160.00 ish plus labour but we have 8 weeks to sort that. No chance of me doing it myself as the poorly arm can't cope with opening Tu99erware yet. :)

I've paid the mortgage but no extras over the agreed payment, and spent so long on the phone that I didn't get as far as setting up the Mand5 card or their banking.

Not really MS but sent in my May timesheet. I was only there for 3 weeks but there was overtime, weekend working, bank holiday and a couple of sleep-ins so some extra money in the next lot of pay.

Living in a bit of a cashless society here so no progress on the 10th coin jar.

Got some groceries this afternoon - I hadn't worked out that carrying them on the unaffected shoulder would put the weight through the bruised foot but that could help me not to buy too much for a few weeks!

This evening my DSes and I went to the cinema which was a nice change. I owe DS1 for my share but he hasn't worked it out yet.

I've also activated the new CC: to get the 'rewards' I have to spend on it within three months but I don't know if I can open a current account with them beforehand.

I've also managed to wash my hair without assistance, and later actually forgot I wasn't wearing my sling and the arm muscles carried the arm themselves, which is great.Quite tired now though.

Nothing spent today - in fact I slept most of the morning, catching up from a couple of sleep-deprived nights. Just as well I'm off sick in some ways. :)

I've moved the remainder of DH's pay from last month into savings - in some ways a worthless exercise as it makes almost no interest, but it does set it aside. The holiday fund is growing nicely!

I've realised we are going to have to allocate fridge and freezer space for DS and DDiL from the end of this month so I need to look at what we can use up in the coming days. I think I will find some psychological trick like filling any space I make with empty plastic containers, so the hard-earned space doesn't magically get used up again.

Made a casserole from bits found in the freezer - will feed me tomorrow as well.

Well I haven't had one of these for a while but I need to be organised: a To Do list. I think it will be much edited and a bit rambling, so nothing new there.
    1. trim hedge - this is a secateurs job and takes ages but lasts ages too.
    2. shops
    3. pay insurance - first get details off DH
    4. try to work out how to switch accounts
    5. look into using loyalty points - want to get the most from them
    6. apply ice pack DONE
    7. sort/clear a kitchen shelf
    8. sort another freezer drawer
    9. declutter some papers
    10. post another item for sale
    11. start a bag to take to charity
    12. make marmalade

I think that's plenty - more than enough to go on with. The kitchen stuff and decluttering are working towards DS and DDiL moving in with us. As that's a bulky way to refer to them and I'll doubtless be mentioning them in the future, DS1 will now be A, DS2 will be D and DDiL will be H. That will confuse everyone but they are much easier to type 1-handed. :D

Off to do some work somewhere.
