Barclays "Suspend" My Life, Stranding me in Europe. The Dark Side Of Working Remote

You are pseudo-intellectuals living in an utterly narrow world.I didn't link my website; I linked to an article relating to this that shows images to back the story up. I joined the forum solely to seek advice of those who are less inept in this field than I. Not to listen to some keyboard warrior imbeciles deriving conspiracy theories in their heads. If you do a little research, the last thing I need is anyone on here to provide me with business. What I am here for is advice.
Imbeciles? Remind me again, who's the one locked out of their account . . . :rotfl:0 -

Imbeciles? We're not looked out of our accounts . . .
Oh yes, of course! The fact that a regulatory banking body revoked access to my account without preempted warning...totally makes me an 'imbecile'. You my friend need to expand your mind; after all we are a figment of our imagination and you obviously let yours wander a little too far off the beaten track. I came here for exactly the reason I said; not thereby one you developed in your head. If you do not wish to be of any meaningful aid...I assume you have at least the minimal levels of maturity needed to just take your 'spam' to another thread.Shakin_Steve wrote: »After a bit more digging, I think Northa is Northampton and ADV is a transaction applied manually, rather than electronically.Shakin_Steve wrote: »Maybe it's the same place as this, from consumer action group:
hi my name is Adrian and i had the same problem like another people with BARCLAY'S BANK.
i had in my account 10,270.28 pound and 17,050.00 in day to day saving account
on 24-03-2011 i went to the branch to make an international transfer
They told me that it costs £25 for transfer.
the next day i checked online if the transfer was on its way but i was surprised when i find all my money from both account was missing, the balance was nil,
the money was transfered TO RECONCILE MANCHESTER PREMIER ADV in 25-03-2011,
i panicked and quickly went to the bank....
the manager didn't know what is going on..
she made a complain to the head office in London...
they said it will take 4-5 days for an answer because they had to escalate my case.
still no answer from them so far.
tomorrow is now 5 days.
is is ridiculous how in the 21st century this can happen
head office called me today and they told me they had no update
...i think the BARCLAY'S BANK is not secure any more.
can u give me somebody advise what should i do, please
Thank you for the insight. I'll look into it.0 -
Does anybody really believe this fabrication ?0

Yes I kind of do believe the story and even if it was made up I think it highlights the points that lots of people have made on here and another threads about having more than one account and not putting all your eggs in one bank
this has come up quite recently a number of times I'm not sure what has changed it never used to be a problem in fact you never heard of anybody's bank account being frozen before I supposed it's a sign of the times we live in
the bottom line is not to trust one bank no matter how good a relationship you have with them and to try and think what would happen if you woke up one morning and could not access your bank account for 28 days0 -
[Update] - My banking was reinstated earlier today upon speaking to the fraud department team in Coventry whom sympathised with me; however it was short lived, less than 3 hours later. I'm back in the same situation; except this time I have access to mobile banking; but all of my funds have been removed, quoting Ref Northa ADV. I'm currently on hold AGAIN, and have been told it could be up to an hour before a member of their team gets to me.
You already said you thought Barclays were b**tards (your words). How come while you had 3 hours of access that you didn't withdraw/transfer everything to someone who isn't Barclays?
I suggest next time you get a window of opportunity you throw all your money through it.0 -
Amazed? What that I took the entirety of a MAMMOTH twenty seconds to make my profile presentable? Rather than just joining, getting information and leaving? I'm sorry that my methodically is not up to your standards. I will try harder in future to gain your rightful acceptance; according to your own inner demise.

Posters are asked to be nice to newbies, sometimes it's not easy, especially when they start insulting other posters.
As for taking "my spam" elsewhere, this is an open forum, you don't get to decide who replies.
Your attempts at put-downs and sarcasm (the lowest for of wit) don't really work do they.0 -
If this happened to me, I would put all my energy into signing up to MSE and detailing my story on there.0

You did what! :eek:0 -
How much roughly per week was going through your accounts in total.0

E.g. recently I made a purchase on a website using our main bank debit card. It was declined as I had allegedly entered the wrong PIN number.
This immediately shut down not only that debit card but also the MasterCard credit card provided by the same bank.
I hadn't even tried to use that credit card as an alternative payment method (because I immediately knew the problem was with the website as I had not mistyped the PIN) but this associated credit card was shut down automatically.
A website that asks you for your PIN number is probably a very dodgy website!
Paying online by debit card involves no PIN number, ever.
Maybe a Verified by Visa check now and then - but never a PIN number.
I'm not surprised the bank closed your access to your accounts!0
