Foxgloves do you ever buy the packs of frozen peppers. I find them quite good for pizzas, sauces etc and fairly cheap. Do get the odd stalk bit though. You need to keep an eye on them!

FatVonD - do you have any cloves? When I had my toothache, sucking a clove really helped

La E and any other KonMari folks - there is a KonMari Facebook page you can join (nice and inspiring seeing how other people live!). There's also an KonMari MSE thread on the OS board.

I am a shocking daughter, am looking forward to some time alone catching up on ironing while she is at bingo today, it's only day 3 and I am exhausted and feel so guilty that I'm finding it hard :o

You are absolutely not! You do a tremendous amount for your mum, particularly given your health condition and the fact that your husband is awaiting surgery and you also have a young son. Be kind to yourself :) She will enjoy her bingo, and you can enjoy a bit of time to yourself :)
  • foxgloves can you give me an idea of your menu plan on a 800 cal day please?

CLF - No, I haven't tried bags of frozen peppers. I bet they can be quite useful. I tend not to buy much frozen veg because I batch cook quite a lot & also grow a fair bit of veg & fruit, so this tends to fill up our freezer. I do chop & freeze some of the peppers that I grow myself but last year was terrible & none of my plants cropped. Not a problem with the seeds as I gave Mum 2 of my baby pepper plants & they cropped amazingly. Hoping for better luck this year.

DNMS - It's Rosemary Conley's '1,2,3 diet'. You do 3 light days on your first week, then 2 each week until your weight is where you want it to be, then just one from then on to maintain your weight. A sample day of what I might eat on a light day. Breakfast - one boiled egg with 1 rice-cake spread with extra light Philadelphia. Lunch - 1 tbsp hummous on 1 slice of toast topped with a few slices of cucumber, followed by a piece of fruit Dinner - We often use the recipes in the book for light day dinners as all the counting is done already - one I like to make is the cod with tomato gnocchi, it's topped with grated low-fat cheese & then put in the oven so it's melty. You also get 75ml milk a day too, for drinks. This is a really low calorie count, but not as low as the fasting diets where I'd be on the floor as my blood sugar can get a bit wobbly. It works though. The idea is that you just eat sensibly for the remaining 5 days, avoiding the foods on Rosemary's naughty red list as much as possible. However, I find I do need to limit those 5 days to 1500 calories or my weight loss tends to stop. I am a shocking nibbler - that saying 'Little pickers wear big knickers' is totally MADE for me. I have to have limits imposed on portions & snacks & so the best way for me to do this & keep the weight coming off is to do the 2 x 800 cal days then allow 1500 cals for the rest. It also means I need to curtail my baking or bake smaller items where the calorie content is such that I can incorporate them into my 1500 days. Oh, & the two 800 days shouldn't be consecutive. Thiink that's everything.....apart from I don't 'dry fry' or use Fry-light or similar as she suggests because I think our bodies & brains do need some fats, so I use a tsp olive or rapeseed oil in the light day recipes & it isn't enough to curtail weight-loss.
Hope this helps. It's her newest book, but like all diet books is bound to be appearing in charity shops. They always seem full of diet books, don't they?!

    Hi everyone

Ziggy - don't forget how awesome you are!! Do not feel guilty at all!! :grouphug:
ToP - I love my neti pot for allergies but I am a yoga geek :p
Carrie - I am in a couple of KM groups (I'll look out for you ;)) I sometimes find them quite brutal for the poor folk who post before reading the book. Ha ha.
FVD - take it easy if you are just getting over a migraine!! :naughty:

Thanks DNMS - I guess it's just that sort of background awareness and I just want them to be gone. In hindsight I think moving the car finance to a 0% card wasn't the best idea. Even though it's cheaper CC debt has got a whole different energy to it than the car loan did... :o

I have had a crazy busy day!! It all got a bit on top of me when I was talking to my boss and I could feel my voice starting to shake. I was ok in the end! No tears in the office thankfully! Things got a bit better in the afternoon and I finished an hour early so I'm home already with a glass of wine in hand - that's ok, right?! :rotfl: :o

    What else...?
    • Cheapo porridge brekkie with free milk from work #smallperks
    • Packed lunch
    • Sorted YNAB now payday is finally here!! :T
    • Need to speak to OH about March's budget - he wants to do a course, which means we can't save for future expenses/'true expenses' - e.g. potential vet bills £25, new boiler 'one day' fund, Christmas 2017 £12.50, monthly saving for amazon prime due in June, kennel stays (for the dog not OH :rotfl:), dental bills and 'stuff we forgot to budget for'... I think this will be ok for one month only/as a one-off but it is a bit of a slippery slope!
    • Cheapo pancakes tonight  - good for a use-up tea - savoury ones with stew and then sweet ones with lemon and lime, last of the honey, last of some choco spread...

OH is also at home tonight so that's a rare treat! :p
