Last night our focus shifted dramatically and we now have 10 months to save £10,000 minimum
We should be able to do it of we cut back on everything, rang our tv provoder last night to reduce package/negotiate better price. By halving the bb we will save £20 a month and its still going to be 100mb so Im sure we can live with that
I sat and updated ynab and wrote a list of what dates my DDs come out. :money:
Todays mission is to:
* cancel subscriptions and services no longer required and list a few more bits for sale.
* check wombled receipts and print off vouchers at work
* leftovers for lunch
Hope everyone has a good dayPreparing to go bankrupt April 20200 -
Morning all :hello: ToP I feel your pain. I've a really sensitive nose and if the wrong particles get up there I can't stop sneezing. Most mornings it's about 10 or so but on bad days it can be getting on for 40 or more, which is so tiring bizarrely so get airing
love the list
Allthe7 what are you saving for - is it a house deposit? Good luck.
Today:
Left overs from freezer for lunch at work, thought it was lasagne, turns out to be cottage pie. No matter.
Hot drink for commute, snacks to work too (fruit)
Washing done overnight out on airer
Wrap ebay parcel, walk and post it later after work
DD to dress up for nursery today. Oops forgot yesterday
Check banking, surveys and FPL
Do one shelf of freezer tonight for an inventory - baby steps :rotfl:
Move money from fleabay once I've wrapped it
Relist some items tonight
Think that's all for now, check back later. Purps.0 -
Morning all
ToP, would taking antihistamines help at all? Even to just give you a bit of relief / energy for all that vacuuming? Sympathies here, I have allergies / asthma and agree with PF, it really is tiringAt least you know to avoid that product in future
It is cold and frosty this morning, after being cold, windy and rainy yesterday. So the heating is on I am afraid!
Today's list:
Dog walk shortly, just the little one, as OH has walked the big one who returned with DS last night (DS often leaves for work at 4.30 am and unsurprisingly the dog isn't very interested in walkies prior to that time!) Done, morning and afternoon
Peg the lounge curtains out on the line #2 (after yesterday's disaster leaving them needing washing for a second time) They were out for a little while, but it soon started raining again
Will put on the airer before bed!
Shopping - I have a voucher for Waitrose, might have a look in there first... I buy one or two things in there regularly, such as bread flour (as they have more interesting varieties) Used voucher, can't say I would normally shop there, except for a specific few items.
I have an ebay sale to pack and post Done
Do some batch cooking, I am thinking Thai green curry and ragu, as I have most of the ingredients for those. Need to check what is missing and add to shopping list Made Thai green chicken curry with jasmine rice for dinner, followed by blackberry cobbler with salted caramel ice creamRagu is in the SC. The recipe seemed to make loads of tomato / veg base (in which to cook pheasant legs - it is a game recipe), so the extra is in a plastic box in the fridge - I will use it to go with meatballs or something another time!
Make a dessert, as DS is back and I find that making a cheap dessert helps with portion control for main course. I have lots of HG fruit in the freezer, so it really doesn't cost much to make something. Blackberry cobbler today
See if I can get a small bag of seed compost in town, so I can sow my tomatoes. I will need to buy bulk bags later on, but OH can help with those! Got the compost, will do the seeds with little GD tomorrow
Go to Savers or the pound type shop for things like washing gel, as it is loads cheaper than the SM! Unless Lidls is cheaper? Will have to investigate! It was actually the same price in Waitrose today
Cleaning - eyeing the state of the uncurtained lounge window! Not done
Like ToP, I too need to eat mindfully, and not pig out on rubbish like I did yesterday, as my jeans are getting tight  No wine either! Not been too bad, but failed on the wine front, as I had to open a bottle for the ragu - so, put a glass in the pan and another in me
Right, off for a dog walk!0 -
Good Morning All
ToPM - Hope your allergies ease
I am a shocking daughter, am looking forward to some time alone catching up on ironing while she is at bingo today, it's only day 3 and I am exhausted and feel so guilty that I'm finding it hardToday's little list

La E in the words of Baz Lurman remember that to worry is futile. It will be ok, trust in the universe x
So having an extremely slow start to the day. Have made a sticker chart with madam for the coming week and had a drawing/colouring session. Going to tidy up and do some baking
Just have had a massive shock that our cm is closing the setting early at 4pm on a Friday. Which would realistically mean finishing at 3 for me. Not sure how this can work. Need to see what oh is saying and maybe between me, oh & bff we can alternate collecting....
Ballet this afternoon and maybe a film and home made popcorn
savoury ham & cheese crepes for dinner and sweet pancakes for desert
Might try for a NSD....
sow seeds
just realised my bank switch goes ahead tomorrow. will need to log on to old account and get details of people I pay money to do prevent any hassle and also dig out the pin. Looking forward to the incentive in 45 days
Ok that'll do xDF as at 30/12/16

Afternoon Campers,
Good solid money saving day today as it's my monthly Big Budget Day & calculators at dawn. Nice positive start when I drew the curtains, peeped in my propagator & discovered all 5 cucumber seedlings are up plus the first aubergines. Yay to seed positivity! Today's stuff:
*Reconciled February's budget. No nasty surprises but have made a firm mental note that I'd have had a spare extra £60 for the Loan Pay down Fund (LPDF!) if we had not had those grocery overspends in the first half of the month.
*Set March's budget. The biggy this month is our annual car insurance premium as I prefer to pay this in a lump sum to avoid the extra cost for instalments, but I've checked & double-checked the figures & as long as we stick to all our budgets during March, we should be fine. I've even remembered to budget for my prescription.
*Worked out how much cash to put in our Savings Piggies. Some are looking a little depleted as paid cottage deposit from Holiday Pig in Feb, also the £75 excess on getting our broken car windscreen replaced from Car Maintenance Pig. Never mind though, that's what they are there for, to stop these expenses going on CCs like the bad old days.
*Small expenses cheque for mr f in the post - paid it into our LPDF (how I want that loan gone!)
*Did 3 supermarket prize draws, entered a charity raffle & did a couple of surveys.
*Read electricity & gas meters & uploaded to website. Noted we are still £283 in credit even after a rebate & reduction of £23 a month to our monthly direct debit.
*Body Shop order arrived. I paid for 1 product & received 2 full sized products (both things I use & need) & a muslin cloth free. Also wombled the 2 sheets of nice red tissue paper & useful little box away into my wrappings stash.
*Did last laundry load of this week on cheap tariff & added to heated airer. It's dry today but feels far too cold to get washing successfully dried outside.
*Downstairs heating off till much later.
*Made up new sheet for logging grocery budget spends (this lives in the front of my filofax each month). Only 4 'shops' this month so £200 should do it. £15 of this will be my Sainsbury's giftcard (Toluna earnings) so have paid £15 across to our LPDF (Be gone, loan!!)
*Check seed sowing plan & make a list of the veggie/herb seeds I still need to buy. I do have most of them plus seed potatoes, garlic, etc, but I still need to buy sweetcorn & a couple of others.
*Skimmed current account for £13.49 which I paid across to our LPDF
*Nobbled mr f to check a strange £10 payment on his CC. It was ok.....it was sponsor money for my sister who has done (if she holds out for the rest of today.....) Sugar-Free February for a cancer charity.
*Big filing session, esp new car insurance docs.
OK, that is it for today. Must go & find some lunch now & see if cat has deigned to eat his breakfast. He's being sooooo fussy at the moment. For such a greedy cat, he can hold out for ages.
Cheers all,

Hey Purps,
Yeah, its for a house deposit that we have reserved the plot for, I have stupidly miscalculated the deposit so the equity in our house is 10k short :eek: obviously I now have my heart set on this lovely new house so its tightening our belts big style time! So glad I had my LBM because it brought me here and helped me find YNAB because that is gonna help no end with keeping me on track!Preparing to go bankrupt April 20200 -
I've woken late after the migraine from hell and being sick in the night but today I am going to Get. Stuff. Done.
Not necessarily money saving stuff but I'm going to take a couple of bags to the charity shop. Load ink in my printer and print a label for WBB and drop the box to the shop for collection.
Finish the washing up mountain that I didn't have the will to do yesterday and put a couple of loads in the washing machine.
Tidy the bedroom and change the sheets.
I have just had some dates firmed up for work for the next two months (with a couple of weeks off scattered in between) so I'm going to use those to be kind to myself.
