  • Hi I've been cutting out McDonald's... The breakfasts crept up andi was indulging three to five times a week... I sat and calculated this over a month to a year this is £100 a month £25 per week a staggering £1200 per year... Not anymore and my waistline is thanking me for it too... Now I'm not skipping my lunch break as I now have to leave the desk to grab something to eat... So my stress levels are decreasing.... Every little helps.... I've recently paid off my mortgage and all visible debts on my credit file... I only have one outstanding debt left which I will pay march April and may... The small steps really make a difference.... Next step is to stop the fags...

    Hi Angelpye,

Good to see how you're getting on, nice work with the meter reads, just a thought on this, does your supplier online account management and billing? If so ( and if you're comfortable with it) you may be able to get a discount on your tariffs by using both these options as it reduces your suppliers energy costs.

I'm probably teaching you too suck eggs here but hoped it might help
    Keep up the good work
    Cheers
    Simon

Hi Simon, they do but haven't got round to it yet - will put on my to do list! I did start to previously but the email didn't come through so will investigate. Thanks for the reminder! :)

  • Hi gang

I've spent the past hour stressing over CCs and trying to work out what I can pay off before the 0% period ends. :( Silly to stress really - I'll pay off what I can and if there is a balance come the end of the 0% then I'll transfer that. At least they're coming down...

I need to go out in an hour or so to pick up OH - I will do so with a smile thinking about all the £££s we're saving by only having one car. :)

I'm just listening to the life changing magic of tidying up on you tube - getting renewed enthusiasm for another 'special event' of tidying. This will be round #3 of clothes if I do start from the beginning again!

LA which you tube channel do you listen to? I love the book but don't have time to read it at the moment.

  • DNMS Thank you for starting the thread.

It has been wet and windy here, much like normal.

    Today I have:
Written this week's shopping list based on meal plan and store cupboard restock.
Went shopping and stuck to the list
Used vouchers but only for the things we use
    Soaking porridge
Set DW & WM to run overnight
    RMS
    Ashleigh
    FPL
    Stick to the meal plan
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
Educated my children for lower cost
Entertained us for free, we watched a dvd from our stash
    Packed snacks
Didn't spend any money whilst taking the children to gym training on snacks & drinks and fees already paid in advance
Filled OH's car up at the cheapest petrol station locally, checked on petrolprices.com
    Washing drying on the airer

I will try and catch up with how everyone's day has been.
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

  • Feeling dire this morning - we used a rug shampoo a few weeks back which I am HUGELY allergic too (sneezing, streaming nose and eyes, raw throat etc), and DD rolled up the rug and was jumping on it yesterday, which has clearly released a load more particles of dry shampoo, and I am a total state this morning. I normally get up early and do yoga, but just couldn't breathe at all and had to abandon it. So number one on the list is to air the house and vacuum vacuum vacuum.

    - vacuum! And vacuum some more! Did I mention that I need to vacuum?
    - pack eb@y sale
    - 1hr work when child 3 naps, plus social media
    - only eat 3 (sensible) meals plus 1 snack - I really need to deal with my upwards creeping weight, and I can't face any sort of calorie/point tracking right now. Tracking the £££s is enough work! I would settle for halting the gain and maybe a tiny loss.
    - ironing
    - balance end of month budgets and sweep anything extra into debt overpayment.
    - have a total meltdown about ongoing streaming nose and eyes and raw throat.
    - sell child 3 on eb@y for causing allergy hell.
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.
