  • Afternoon all :hello:

    We've been away for the weekend for an impromptu overnight with some friends in the 'big smoke'. They provided food, we took some booze (and bought some back ;)) Long walk and free entertainment at 'new' places for smalls yesterday. Work paid for fuel, so no major spends :T

    Glad I was organised and got some stock and salmon out to make a risotto when we go back for tea so we weren't tempted by takeaway :p Plus I freed up some space in my freezer (which is project for March) and got another plastic pot back (cupboard pot was looking bare as they're all in the freezer) :rotfl:

    Today I will:
    Get tax for DH car (+ move money from annual bills savings piggy)
    check banking - update spreadsheet
    check surveys, FPL, £co
    Meals from stores, left over HM soup for lunch
    No packed lunch for DD as they are apparently having takeaway pizza for lunch ;)
    check annoying things list and see if I can do one
    work from home, so no commute :D
    Make list of what I'm planning to sow in March and see what I need to get
    package fleabay parcel and post
    relist some unsold items, check on others

    Hi all,

    My morning was hijacked by my elder DD, she is all grown and doesn't live at home but needed some groceries and a hug - she has depression so sometimes finds it hard to stay on top of things. That takes me £20 over my budget for the month which I will have to find next month - but I am happy with that. I can't afford to help her out really but I can't not help her out either; I would rather be a little more stressed myself and ease her struggles just a little bit for the price of petrol, time and a couple of bags of shopping. I have decided I need to add in a section in my budget for this as its once or twice a month and with petrol it all adds up.

    Has made me behind with my own stuff today as only just got back and need to collect little DD after her school club.

    Today:
    * Dry washing to be put away
    * Pet related cleaning
    * Bit of work
    * Food from stores...must get something out of the freezer.
    * Survey experiment if I have time

    I am obsessed with my energy bill, I worked out should be due £300 from my meter readings, stalking post man daily until that bill arrives so I can see if I am right!

    FVD...its ok for plans to change, I am sure the garden centre have had it happen before.

    Hope you are all dry and warm, its pretty wild out here today!
    Happiness is wanting what you have...

    FVD, hope you get your tooth sorted, I am sure you will feel much better when that is out of the way. I don't blame you for having a rethink about the minimum wage job. As you say, you can earn far more doing what you are trained to do, in less time. You can always look round for something else between assignments when you feel up to it, if you really want a change.

    Don't worry about letting them down, there are always plenty of people looking for work, they will soon get someone else :)

    Hi February Folks,

    Went out for a lovely walk at a local beauty spot and took some photos.

    I'm now working my way through my Annoying Jobs list: the things I've been avoiding, then I can feel smug that I've done the jobs later.

    Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    *
    Cleaned car: I'm afraid I took it to the garage to jet wash it despite owning a power-washer. Been avoiding this job since December. :o

    * Cleaned top of wardrobe before the dust gets any thicker and we contract dust-itis.

    * Did an invoice for DW's business. Re-use an envelope. Use stamps provided by RMSurveys.

    * Burned some files to CD for a friend. Been avoiding this for a month.

    * Parked for free just out of town and walked in.

  • Haven't been on here for days, I'm feeling in almost-new-month limbo and struggling to keep the motivation levels up.

    There's hardly any day left today, so I'm not going to set myself a load of challenges, but I've done a few things that I'm pleased with...

    - made a couple of little debt overpayments today as eb@y sales and a refund came in
    - used up the last of two packets of lentils to make dal for dinner. Love rice and dal.
    - made egg-free drop scones for after school snack as we are in bare-cupboards-before-food-shopping day
    - prepared invoices to send out tomorrow. I'll bring in about £400 just from this end of the month stuff (on top of other bits that have dribbled in through the month), which is miles better than the 'bare minimum' £118 income that our budget relies on, so I'll be able to get a bit of a 'salary' buffer in my business account for the FIRST TIME EVER.
    - didn't put the heating on during the day, just layered up with an extra cardi and a scarf. It's not warm here today!
    Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
    Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.

    1LuckyLady, that was quite A good YS haul.

    Thanks all for your good wishes. There are no appointments all week at the dentist but they have taken my number and will call me as soon as they get a cancellation.

    I've been chipping away at the temporary filling I put in which I'm sure is making things worse and I seem to be able to get the magic toothpaste more on the spot now.

    I've also looked at the packet of paracetamol I've been shovelling down me and realised it has caffeine in it which explains why I had the shakes yesterday. Despite drinking lots of tea I don't cope well with caffeine in huge doses (I can't take S0lpadol for that reason) so I'm onto just ibuprofen now.

    The rain is lashing down and I've done precious little all day except sleep and have a bath in case I get the dentist call. There is food in the freezer already so no need to venture outside at all.

    Looking on the bright side, I will be able to return the trousers I bought for the new job. I had another email from old work/different mag saying they should have dates by end of play today. It's covering for sick leave apparently, I guess someone must be going into hospital for something or other.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • FVD you can call the emergency dentist number - google for your area - and they have the appointments for all dentists in your area and can slot you in at another dentist. I've had to do this before and it was really simple. Poor you! x
