Morning all. Congratulations to all the losers - some good ones this week!!

I am delighted to report2.5lb off this week. Not sure what I have done differently as I have had a couple of days over the syn allowance (stew and HM dumplings??) but others barely reaching 5. Anyway I'm not analysing it too much as I've not had a regular loss since I started in January but no gains so far.

Thanks for the chart Shala - you do a sterling job!

Not a good week here, period has arrived and brought a 3 lb gain with it.

Work is terrible and my mood is terrible, proper exhausted. Been going home near enough straight to bed every night. Too stressed to even focus on the tv.

    At least its Friday.

Hope everyone is well, I'm sure I'll be back in better form next week. Things do turn round eventually. xx

Aw Lantanna - try to remember it'll soon pass, hard to think like that I know.

Bubbs  Well done! Some other decent 2/3lb losses coming in too - well done everyone!

Commiserations to the gainers - Piglet I bought in advance for Easter too, and again, and again :wall: - I am reporting a 0.5lb gain this week - pretty lucky it's not more.

I've bitten the bullet and signed up to SW online and ordered a gorgeous Fox & Moon planner. Surely by throwing money at the problem that'll solve it! Seriously though, I've fallen into the habit of estimating syns so the online directory and calculator will really help.

    Four weeks til Manchester weekend.
    Seven weeks til family christening.
    Eight weeks til half marathon.
    Nine weeks til Paris.
    Fourteen weeks til Budapest.

If I can lose 1.75lb a week I'll be under 11 stone by Budapest.

Have a good day all - I'm off for a well overdue haircut and may treat myself to a jacket spud and beans in town.
    Weightloss: 14.5/65lb
  • STS for me this week fed up because I've tried hard this week. Still in range but wanted to be at the very bottom before Easter.
Anyway, today's plan looks like this :-
    He a bob milk
He b 2 hifi light ( new coffee ones are lovely)
B hifi bars after weigh in
L sw chips, egg and beetroot
D chicken fajita lasagne (6) using readymade white sauce. Served with salad.

Glad you are back safe Lois.
Well done Bubbs on that massive loss.

Wow some amazing losses, especially Bubbs

Had a few days off plan trying to get my head sorted.
Got my scan results. Now cancer free which is good, however the operation has done some damage, which hopefully might improve, but in the mean time I am on quite a restrictive diet as my body can't process certain foods properly.
The restrictive diet isn't the most SW friendly, but with a lot of planning, I should be able to cope.
There isn't a single meal I do for my family that isn't going to need altering in some way.

I will still be posting my food plans, but please be aware that they might not totally fit with what is good.

I am going to have to do some things that would normally be classed as tweaks, and therefore have to be syned, but I have asked my SW consultant about this, and if I am replacing free foods with other free foods, having stuff in normal quantities and as part of normal meals, then she says they are not tweaks, so therefore I don't need to syn them. Also I won't be able to have my full amount of Healthy B's.

It is taking me a lot to get my head round all of this, and I am now having to make some changes to foods that are less healthy than what I would previously have chosen, but they are now the healthier option for me.

    Today's plan:
    Breakfast - Fruit
Lunch - Rice noodles and veg
Dinner - Rice, chicken and veg

    HA - milk
    HB - none

Well done Bubbs on an absolutely fantastic loss in your 1st week of SW!

Also well done to all the losers and hugs for those who have gained.

Katheryn - hope with your new diet plans you can still continue to lose weight. Your health must come before SW eating.

Welcome back LL. Hope being able to get to group again helps you continue to lose.

My holiday is nearly at an end now and we are off out for lunch for my birthday today. We're hopefully going to get a seafood paella in a Spanish restaurant in Ventnor. It wasn't open when we went to Ventnor earlier in the week but said it was only open Thurs - Sunday.

If it actually isn't open until Easter (ie summer season) then we'll just find a pub to get something.

I'm going to make a potato based pizza for dinner tonight along with some salad.

Back home tomorrow afternoon but need to check out 10am and booked onto the 11.30 ferry so it will be lunch out again tomorrow as well! I'm not sure all this eating out this week will have done my weight loss journey any good, although most days I've chosen carefully (except one day when we had cod & chips but do buy a "senior" portion which meant only about a dozen chips with a big piece of fish and I didn't eat any of the batter!).

Sounds like you've had a good week denise. Happy Birthday! I won't post a cake as I know you wouldn't want to eat it. Hope you have a nice lunch to celebrate.:A

That's good news kathrynha. I'm really pleased for you and good that you got the results so soon. Do let us know if we can help with any recipes for your new plan and I'd love to hear about ' not tweaks' as if they apply to you they might apply to us.:D

Sorry to hear things aren't good lantanna. Any other jobs around?

:TWell done on your loss esmy (and anyone I've missed:o) . What you've effectively proved is that saving/flexible syns can work. So going over one day is fine provided you go under on another.

I've just checked what I ordered for tonight's dinner and it's reasonably SW friendly.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: LO ham hash with veg and pickles
D: prawn cocktail, salmon, crushed new potatoes, seasonal veg with strawberry and cream filled meringue (that's what menu says)
Syns: weekend wine and whatever's in my dinner??

Because of the damaged caused they told me the results quickly, so that hopefully by avoiding the foods my body can't process at the moment, it will increase the chance of my body recovering as much as possible. Going to be on a bit of a restrictive diet probably for life, but hopefully it will be less restricted than it is now.

I will be looking for lots of rice recipes, as that's the only SW free carb pretty much that I can eat freely, although I have a list a mile long of foods to totally avoid, and foods I can only have a limited amount of.

One of the difficult foods I have to pretty much totally avoid is tomatoes. I use tomatoes in so many things. Any suggestions of replacements for in chilli, bolognese, etc?

Don't totally get the tweaks thing, but from what I have rea and my what my consultant has said, I think I am kind of getting it.
One of my allowed tweaks is rice pudding made with diet cream soda (and cinnamon).
Normally you would make it as a pudding or a snack and therefore it would be extra to what you really need to eat, and you would use more cream soda than the allowed HA amount of milk, so you are replacing a syned food with a free food, also with snacks you are less likely to have 1/3 speed with it. Because of these reasons it is a tweak and should be syned to protect your weight loss.
I, however am having the rice pudding as an alternative to porridge for breakfast, in a similar sized portion to porridge, and having it with 1/3 speed fruit, therefore I am told it is okay, even though it is a rather weird breakfast.

  • STS this week :( Can't say I'm surprised... actually no, I am surprised it's not a gain! I've really struggled to stay motivated this week, had 2 takeaways last weekend, a whole box of lindt lindor and various other treats! Haen't exercised for a month now! I need to get motivated again :(
