    Lost 3 pounds

Yeah but grrrrr at the same time...2 weeks of feeling like a failure only to get a bigger drop, why are our bodies so complex???

This week I've been crap with speed, have followed plan in my head, not added up syns etc, whilst I know I've made healthy choices I've had a few binges (hello white bread and butter!)

So, back on plan 100% tommorow, only 2 pounds till my 2 stone milestone! And will look at planning meals again.

    Well done on your loss:T:T
Thats what i have cut out alot of bread/potatoes etc as cant have many carbs anyway, but need to watch the fruit im eating because of the sugar:o will keep an eye on it

    maman its here :D thankyou

It's a very SW friendly day bubbs .

    My comments/queries would be :
Why only 6 syns? Are you saving them?

Do you have health reasons for cutting carbs? They are allowed on SW.
I see your point about fruit. It's only a personal opinion but I tend to have most of my Speed as veg.
Overall it doesn't seem like much for a day's food. Fine if you're not hungry but don't deprive yourself.

Was naughty yesterday as we went for lunch at a Beefeater restaurant. I normally make good choices there as I love steak but they had a new menu and there was a short rib of beef wellington. Was with new potatoes and green veg in a Malbec sauce. Was lovely but should have been good and had steak and jacket potato. Even worse was the gin and tonic lemon trifle I had for pudding! I enjoyed it though which is the main thing as normally when I'm naughty recently, I end up thinking it wasn't worth the syns.

Been back on track today though:
No breakfast as I had a lovely lay-in
L: Burger (1 syns) using 2 large mushrooms as the bun, with a bit of tomato puree instead of ketchup and 1 dairylea triangle (1.5 syns). Served with frylight fried onions; beetroot and gherkins.
D: Syn free beef tagine cooked in the pressure cooker with rice

HeA: 250ml alpro dark chocolate almond milk for hot chocolate
    HeB: 2 x hifi bar
Snack: Milky Way cake bar (6 syns)

Tomorrow's menu is probably fine bubbs . Although you don't have any Speed with your dinner, you probably have enough across the day to make the third you need for EE.

We've all put the weight on in the first place by eating too much of the food that should be an occasional treat on a regular basis like chocolate or pizza or biscuits or crisps.
SW is designed as a long term healthy eating plan not a crash diet. The thinking is that if you don't have the occasional treat you'll be likely to feel deprived and give up.
If you really don't want syns as treats you could use them to vary your menu perhaps by adding cheese or nuts or milky coffee or other things with syns in them. Personally I save my syns to have wine at weekends.
So you don't have to use your full 105 syns a week if you don't want them but be careful not to get fed up with being too 'good' and having a relapse.

Hope that doesn't sound too preachy, it's just my take on the thinking behind SW.:)

Bubbs - as maman says using syns is recommended. Some people do flexible syns for weekend treats or go under syns to allow for any accidents or errors with measurements (the latter is definitely me!)

I'm trying to have syns and occasional chocolate - some do treat plates everyday which for me is the reason I got fat, so I try and have 2 days of "food" and one day carp.

Think about how you could get "good" syns into your day I.e an extra wholegrain option - cereal as well as bread, nuts, olive oil, avocado etc.

    Tommorow menu -

Quark, raspberries grape nuts (half hxb)

Dinner - HM cauli and blue cheese soup, 2 ryvitas (half hxb) laughing cow hxa, tomato and ham.

Tea spanish chicken stew type thing with speed veg.

Will see for syns what I feel like

Maman, the meat etc is mixed with the potatoes and gravy i e. Chunky meat chunky potatoes. cottage pie is mince at the bottom spuds on top and browned, just as good though !
When it's served in a cafe. It's the meat and potatoes with a small thin pastry scone. Plus red cabbage or pickled onions or beetroot. A dash of HP. Sauce is good too.

Morning all and happy Monday. I've had a semi-on-plan kind of a weekend. Cooked dinner for Granny yesterday - made SW lamb stew thing in the slow cooker from the One Pot book, but had with a couple of AB frozen Yorkshire puds and some ready made root veg mash (potato, carrot and sweet potato), plus a good slab of coffee and walnut cake after.

Would really really like to lose the last fortnight's 2lb gain this week. The cupboards are bare, so trying to make a plan. Feeling so uninspired though, and having things on in the evenings is a real PITA.

    Today:
B - orange, pear* and passion fruit with honey Greek yog (1) and chia seeds (HEB)
D - Tuna salad w/ grated carrot, cucumber, beetroot, pickles, sweetcorn, and cherry toms
T - Leftover lamb stew w/o the synful sides (1 syn for cornflour)
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - chia seeds
    Syns - 2 as above, 4 for sugar, 2 for hot chocolate = 8

*I don't think I like pear but I bought one to try - wish me luck!
    (They ARE speed, right?)

Wow another busy weekend on here.

Well done to the losers, hugs to the sts and gainers, and welcome to the newbies.

I had another self sabotaging weekend, so on damage limitation before tomorrows weigh in again.
At the hospital for follow up scan this afternoon, so fingers crossed that's all okay, but don't know how long I will have to wait for results.

    Todays plan:
Breakfast - overnight oats and fruit
Early lunch - ham and cottage cheese salad
Dinner - Chilli in the slow cooker, as I might not feel up to cooking later, as the tracer for the scan made me feel iffy last time :(

    HA - milk
    HB - oats
syns - ate all of them already over the weekend :(
