Back from my weekend away. Was definitely not SW friendly! The restaurant only had things with chips & onion rings! I opted for the salmon which was really good, as were the chips & onion rings! Also a lot of syns on alcohol.

Have been completely off plan since WI on Thursday so planning SP for couple of meals this week.

    Tomorrow's plan will be EE:

    B - porridge & fruit
    L - HM leek & potato soup
D - HM cottage pie; brocolli, cabbage

    HEA - milk in teas
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - none planned

Well, I've definitely got my on plan hat on right now - just hope it lasts....
Yesterday's plan went a little bit awry as I've come down with a cold, so although I stuck to my menu plan for breakfast and lunch my dinner was different - quorn sausages and instant mash with salad, so still totally on plan, just quicker and easier to cook! Ended the day on about 6 syns, so I'm very happy with that.

    Today I've had:
B - Quorn meatballs, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes and eggs
L - BNS noodles, broccoli, mushrooms, pak choi, spring onions, quorn pieces, sweet chilli sauce (3 syns)
D - Quorn beefsteaks (1 syn), horseradish sauce (2 syns) roast potatoes, primula (hexA), speedy salad
    S - apple, pear, grapes
Still need to have my hexB - will possibly have some Weetabix Crunchy Bran as a tv snack :-) and maybe some frozen cherries as I love these and they're great for a sore throat :-)

Breakfast and lunch prepped for work tomorrow and Tuesday: overnight oats (hexB) with raspberries, pesto pasta'n'sauce quiche and a mixed salad, also some apples, pears and grapes ready to take into work with me to snack on.

    Have a good evening all!

Please can I join the challenge. I have been doing SW at home since January and have lost 8lbs.

For this challenge I would like to lose 9lbs

I may not achieve it as going on holiday to India on 6 April(although I may lose more if I get Delhi-belly:rotfl:)

    Good luck everyone!
  • Can I join please? My target for this challenge is a stone...Adventurious or what lol!

Tea was a homemade cottage pie which, given my cooking abilities, went down rather well.

I haven't broken it to them yet that the mash was made a la SW as hubby is a little dismissive of some of the SW recipes.

On the menu for this week us that Greek stew being pushed by Tesco so will let you know how it that goes diwn.

    Happy New Thread, gang!

Friday – went over the score celebrating friend’s birthday. It was my treat and in my defence, she doesn’t get out unless I take her, so I chose the venue and let her decide what she wanted from the menu and I went along with the three courses because I would have felt uncomfortable to leave her eating on her own.

    Hello, ruthy and Lizzie.

Love the name for the new challenge, shala.

    Hello again, meg.

beanie, Barbara Dickson fans here, but really more from her folk days. DH used to be involved in running local folk club then.

Tete and maman, in Budapest avoid the ‘gypsy steaks’ – they are disgusting. Budapest and Prague are both beautiful – enjoy.

Another March birthday here – and another Aries, TIE!
Those are the things I loved in school. I went as the cat in the hat one year and had to meet with parents and psychologists so dressed (it was unplanned)!

I have the same problem as you lois, and I think greentiger does too.
    Spot on, maman.

Glad you’ve chosen to come back, gts.

Oh, Mrs_R. you have had a lousy time. Sending hugs.

Hope you sail through tomorrow, kathrynha.

Well done, Tete, whiplashy, tweets and wiz.

    Good mantra, TG.

Cazza, you have an ex Bairn in your owl ranks – coach Lee Bullen (and he was at beanie’s local team too).

Saturday and Sunday haven’t been great SW wise – won’t bore you with the details – just need to turn the corner tomorrow.

    Good luck, everyone.

Oh, match just finished - well done, tweets and commiserations to you maman. Hope you enjoyed your day out despite the result.

I know what you mean, I had to meet a speech therapist whilst wearing a purple spotted onesie :p :A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Just been playing catch up Doris caused havoc here, trees down, chicken shelters all over the garden, and no electric or phone signal for most of Thursday, I did make it to weighed in though and managed a 1.5 lb loss which is fine...but... got me determined, means I ended feb only 1.5lb less than what I was 11th December, I've put on and lost the same half stone twice in between then and now! Determined not to see it again!
Does anyone else find sometimes at group you learn absolutely nothing... it was one of those ones :undecided

Mrs_Ryan I hope today has been much kinder to you sending *hugs*

Top Girl Welcome! and go you! x

You moved house half way through my catch up! haha
shala_moo - can I join in this one please :D going to go for 18 lbs.

I ummed and ahhed over that target for far too long! Nearly played it safe, I know I can do 1.5 a week, so extra good, or rather stop my off plan day and I can do it :) . Only 2 off plan events planned, 1 is a meal out at a burger place so shouldn't be too horrific, and the other is a weekend away, half work half play, all food and drink provided and usually a lot of cake and pastries ... but... highlight of my year, and the walking and travel anxiety should make up for some of the food. This will finish the weekend before my birthday, and my 1 year birthday with slimming world in May so I'm hoping to surprise myself and surpass that :)

Had a weekend with the boyfriend cat sitting, slipped up slightly on Friday, food was fine, but over syns in the form of vodka, and coffee liqueur cocktails... :( But Sat and today have been ok, he drank beer, and bought peanut chocolates and pistachios for snacks so I wasn't tempted <3

I did SW katsu curry for dinner sat, which was a bit spicy for me as I halved the stock but forgot to half the spices, and didn't have a blender, and we had the chicken pot pie from the Jan/feb magazine for dinner tonight really tasty! Though the poppy seeds are a complete waste of time as soon as the oil dries on the pastry they all fall off! :(

Been looking up things to do with the left over filo, any suggestions?
I found veggie pasty bites and vegetable samosas on the SW website but have LOADS of pastry still! Also do you reckon I could make those and freeze them? :/
    x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....

    :rotfl: there are no words...!!

I wasn't really feeling the love for SW today and had to talk myself out of M&S and Waitrose staring at the cookies, so I came home and made a couple. Yes it was over syns but it could have been a lot worse!

So this could be SP but obviously over on syns and no speed - I find weekends so hard! and weekdays :rotfl:

    B - scrambled eggs on toast(heb)
L - two oat cookies (oats, choc, nuts, egg, sugar free syrup) - all syns, plus more
T - steak, new potatoes (heb)
    S - milk (hea) nectarine
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Can't see why not, is the filling cooked and then added into the pastry?

They may be a bit soggy when you defrost them but if you pop them back in the oven they should crisp up again in no time.

Unfortunately you can't call that an SP day! On SP you have to have at least 50% Speed.

However, you might just about get away with a Red day as you haven't had any carbs apart from in your syns.

I would definitely suggest you includes lots of Speed foods over the next week to make up for not having any today!
