    Definitely. It's so hard sometimes.
When people at work bring in chocolate, and they know I can't have it, so they bring in some haribo as well just for me, it feels rude not to eat some.

Ahh that's so kind of them! But yeah, nightmare!
Tete I was thinking about your question of offending people only this morning.Generally, people know I have been on and off SW for 6 years, and most my friends and customers would have no problem if I said "No thank you.Trying to be good at the moment".However, this morning(as every fortnight),I was working for a client who has just turned 89,and cares (at home)for his wife, who has dementia.Every time I visit,he has one of those coffee pots on, that stays hot all day,and you can pour a hot coffee anytime.Everytime I go there,he feeds me copious amounts of coffee, despite the fact that at home,I would normally drink tea.I have never said anything, because I do enjoy a coffee for a change.
I have been working for them for 2.5 years, and only about 4 weeks ago we were chatting, and I can't remember how it came up,but I suggested something about him having the coffee on for all the different carers,hair-dressser,podiatrist,etc that come through the house."Oh,no",he says."We don't have the coffee on all the time-I only put that on when you are coming over.Rest of the time,we drink instant,or,more usually,tea!":rotfl::rotfl:.

Even worse, now I am back on SW,I didn't have the heart to say to him today that, actually,I don't want sugar in my coffee, and do you have a sweetener (even though I bet he probably does :o).And then,to make it even worse, this morning (not always),he said to me "You've got a sweet tooth, haven't you? Here, have one of these",and offered me a chocolate-coconuttybite-sized thing ,which I took because he expected it,and told myself it would be rude to refuse.THEN,even worse,I folded it into a tissue and discretely put it in a tissue to bring home and bin.Isn't that bad?Poor man.Paid for that with his pension money :(.

Oh no! Can you go down the line of "Please don't make it specially for me, I love a cuppa tea too!" or something? Just shows what being polite does - if you'd asked for what you really wanted the first time you wouldn't have this dilemma! As for the biscuit, I wouldn't worry - it's made him happy to think he's made you happy. I'm amazed at your willpower though, I would have eaten it!

Lantanna, I stopped wearing my fitbit when I moved from teaching back to office work as the step count was so depressing - kind of defeats the object though!

Lois - thanks so much for all the rice pud info, I had no idea it was all so low-syn! *adds to list*

Brilliant news about the kidneys Kathryn - so pleased for you! Banned food ahoy! (in a controlled manner).

Yesterday was stressful but successful: Cursed Child tickets finally acquired (NEXT May!), evening class done and everyone happy, and job application submitted in the nick of time. And all without turning to chocolate. Even with my glass of Pinot Grigio I finished on 14 syns.

Today is a lazy morning, early lunch, working this aft then running club tonight:
    B - Coffee
D - Bacon, onion, mushroom and tomato omelette (I've said this every day but always ended up having a mug shot or similar for quickness)
T - Salmon wth courgette and mushrooms
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Alpen Light(s)/nuts
Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), Muller Caramel Pot thing (3.5), hot choc (2) = 9.5

Another sneaky peek on the scales this morning suggests things are going in the right direction so fingers crossed for Friday...

Tete en l'Air, I resisted the temptation to call in at the supermarket on the way home yesterday to buy some chocolate, as I know I wouldn't be able to eat it in a controlled manner.

Trying to work out what I want most from my banned list. Chocolate, crisps, coffee, pepsi max, chips, brown rice or tomatoes?

I'm very jealous of you having cursed child tickets

Oh gosh I wouldn't know how to choose from that list! Obvs the tomatoes are causing you big problems with limiting your favourite meal options, but if you're only allowed a small amount maybe it needs to be a real treat like chocolate or chips? Augh!

And yes re. Cursed Child - so happy! I actually rearranged my work shifts this week so I could stay home and queue, was fed up of missing out!

    Morning all

Beautiful morning here again but it's SO cold! Being cold is supposed to be good for weight loss, so hopefully it's doing some good.

renowen - hi there, welcome to the thread. Feel free to join in the chat and ask any questions.

A good week last week, but I am dead on a stone, and want to take a good step in to the stone below next week, so determined for another good week.

I'm in exactly the same position and have been for a couple of weeks - the scales seem to be stuck and unable to go to the next number down.

Regarding your limited access to the banned foods, I'd really struggle to cook meals without tomatoes, I use at least 1 can of them everyday and have fresh ones as extra speed too.

Cursed Child? Oh dear, I'm feeling old now, I've never heard of them. :rotfl: DH and I are going to see Led Zeppelin tomorrow night - that probably says a lot about my age. :D On a sad note, my grandfather used to tell my Dad he was a cursed child because he was born on Friday 13th - Dad always blamed everything that went wrong in life on that.

Right - closing time at last, time for lunch, catch you later.

A month a go I would have opted for tomatoes, but I am finding alternatives. Some HBs to give me some fibre is very tempting, but I'm sort of thinking if I'm only allowed a little it should be something that's a treat. I'm allowed so little I really don't want to waste it.

    afternoon all,

not so great yesterday - after a few good days anxiety wise I had a stumble but ready to get back on it. Thinking of ordering a food diary from one of the crafty folks on Etsy/similar thinking if its a design that works for me and it's pretty I may be more likely to use it. Still tossing up going back to a group/online membership.

Away this weekend and I'm going to flex like a queen as it's a rare child free and sport fee (well he's not competing we are watching an event though) weekend away with hubs so there will be some meals out. I've had a look and it's pretty standard restaurants (tgis etc) so I can roughly plan but I'm not going to worry myself silly if I want a glass of wine and a dessert :P

Ready for a new thread and a new challenge! Roll on summer when hopefully I'll be closer to a happy me!

Delighted for you kathrynha and I think I'd go for the chips.:D

Glad you've got another holiday planned lantanna. It's something to aim for. You're sounding really upbeat.:)

saverupper, I think I'd announce that you're trying hard to eat healthily/on a diet so you're going to stop having coffee as you'd hate it without sugar;) and please would they make you tea instead. I'm sure it's your company and offering the hospitality they love most.:) May I suggest you try to up your Speed food a bit? I know you had some fruit and carrot yesterday but dinner looks very short. Perhaps baby sweetcorn instead?

I'm having a healthy day today. Yesterday was full of syns but at least I didn't join my DH with treacle sponge and custard!

There's a huge billboard advert near us (I think it's for Tesco) with cauliflower steaks on it and I've been fancying trying them so I'm going to do them as a side with tonight's dinner.

I've also decided that I'm probably eating too much red and processed meat so from next week I'm going to try for more fish and chicken for dinner and a few different lunches for me. So I'm going to make a pot of veggie chilli to have with JPs as a change.

    Today's plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese and pickles
D: salmon, SW chips, cauliflower steak, mushrooms, green stuff (asparagus, broccoli, peas)
    Syns: NONE!

Very late posting today as had to take the car in for repair this morning so have been out on the bus today to a nearby town - the nearest one with lots of shops to walk round that we can get to by bus!

It would have been nearly an hour's wait for a bus going back home and then the same again going back so it was easier this way but not very SW friendly!

No breakfast before we left so ended up with a Brunch in Wetherspoons - scrambled eggs on toast (they don't do whole meal bread!) so 10 syns!!!

Late lunch - small side salad with a little dressing - about 1tsp so 1 syn

Dinner was a bit better but 3 syns for chilli and rice (the chilli was from the freezer which was made with a synned chilli mix which I don't usually use)

    HEA - milk
HEB - not had (can I knock 6 off the bread please, LOL!)
    Syns - 14

Problem being I only had 6 syns left for today so I've gone over by 8 for the week!!! but still hoping a might get a small loss (there was a small loss showing earlier today!)

Kathryn - good news about the "banned" foods. think I'd probably go for either tomatoes or chips but as you say you've found workarounds for the tomatoes that leaves chips. But if you've got a sweet tooth you might prefer to go with chocolate. A hard decision for you to make so good luck.

LL - Cursed Child meant nothing to me either! Like you I'm probably a bit old to have heard about it. I've certainly heard of Led Zepplin - hope you enjoy the concert.
