Thanks guys
black saturn what are plastic dehumidifiers? lol
The perfume is a great idea, especially for bed linen, as is essential oil, but does it not just sit on top of the water rather than mixing in?Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
I use water that has been boiled, cooled and then put through a Brita filter in a spray bottle with a few drops of essential oil both as ironing water and as a Febreze-type spray

Thanks!
Would it work to boil up , say dried lemon and berries, and then use the cooled water as air freshener/fabric freshener ? Or will it go off even though it's been dried previously?
I 'd like something for my babies room without chemicals/alcohol in it.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
I've used essential oils mixed with water before now. Lavender is good for bedding(you can add it to the vinegar in the wash too) and night clothes. I like an orange oil too. Start with a few drops - you can always add more but don't want litres of the stuff if you need to add more water. Some of the fabric conditioner have good ideas for mixes - I just nick these. eg ylang ylang - rose, cyprus, clary sage, grapefruit . Get the pure oils rather than blended - once you've bought them they last ages.0

Lol..it doesn't do much except make the clothes smell nice!
And I like to spray my curtains/sofa with it to freshen them too.Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
I used to use the water from defrosting my fridge but since we had to have a new fridge I cant anymore as it is frost free.
I expect you could do the same with the freezer unless that is frost free too.0 -

Think the idea is that it's equivalent to distilled water and therefore no furring up of the iron. But after using only britta filter water in my last iron, which lasted only just over the year, I read the instructions on my new iron to find that was how I'd managed to "kill" it. They state quite clearly not to use filtered water or fridge/freezer thawings. Said use of these would cause all the problems I had - spitting of dirty rust-like water! I've learned my lesson:oYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
