OK have heard back from the hospital
NO hospital patient transport is available - they can supply a list of taxi services on request !!
A taxi from my home (4 miles to and from the hospital cosrs around £12) !!

From where we live taxi to hospital is £25, expensive if you have to be there 7.30 for day surgery

Nope, very lucky at this stage in life to be nowhere near the requirement.
Its good you feel being a blue badge holder gives you the right to throw out insults though. I didnt realise only blue badge holders could reply here?
Personally I'm thinking your meds need looked at given the tone and juxtaposition of some of your posts.
    Meds - I don't take any
I sell them on the black market to fund my expensive parking habits !

Right - "drive to the hospital" is the easy bit...
No other transport is available (buses are non-existent as is hospital patient transport and taxis are even more expensive than paying for parking.)
Why should a non-disabled person have the ability to walk when and where they like ?
Poor mobility limits me to where I can walk - I take 15 minutes to walk from the car to the hospital main entrance and that is if I am able to walk at all !!
    Accessibility I guess !
Be aware that my car is my own purchase - not a Motability vehicle

That does not answer my question. If there is apparently no public transport to this hospital then everyone has to drive. So why should your parking be free and others have to pay?

What relevance does having your own car have?

mrcol1000, thousands of people without BBs have to attend hospital regularly, I do so on a weekly basis. Disability goes far beyond whether you can walk or not.

....and as one person I know...I sell them on the black market to fund my expensive drug habits

He makes a fortune in selling Oramorph and Morphine tabs.

We in Wales have the right idea, no hospital parking charges with specific staff-only car park areas. It's not like people have a choice about going to a hospital, why are english ones still charging ???

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I could say a lot about how messed up the Welsh hospitals and health systems are under the current assembly but I won't out of respect to the ex who still lives just outside Swansea. She's welcome to it.

Is it? It seems to change with every post.
So now everyone should get free parking including the staff?
How would you handle free parking with no spaces available when you arrive?

The Maelor is my local, so yes fully aware of how it is there unfortunately.

Also unfortunately wifey's had to go to the cardiac unit at Bodelwyddan 5-6 times in the last 4 months, but we've never had an issue parking there...in fact it's like Dingly Dell there compared to the Maelor :D

@unforseen do you have local knowledge of up here?
