The average salary of these workers is £27k with the CEO on £250k +
    (according to Whatdotheyknow)
    so ....................

Staff nurses ( majority of nursing staff) £21-27k
Admin ( secretaries etc) up to £21k
Domestic and ward clerks up to £18k.

They are obviously including all the non nursing senior management, who will probably have their own allocated parking spaces, and consultants to get that average.

And did you bother to look at what the average HCA is getting, or student nurses who are paid nothing? The CEO's pay rate and a few top consultants probably distorts the figures. Make it meanstested if you must but for heavens sake do you really think cleaners, HCAs, student nurses etc should be paying? A nurse, or student nurse doing a 12 hr shift would be paying £27 a day, well know more than that because they will do a handover as well. Wouldn't be worth working at where I live there would be any buses to get them there for a 6 am or 7 am start.
    Sell £1500

    2831.00/£1500

The car park has 800 spaces and is designed for patients - NOT the 2000 staff at the hospital
if 2000 staff use it - where are patients supposed to park ?
and yes staff should pay the same as patients...
it is £16 for 24 hours parking - which is way too much for staff and patients

In my case - considerably less than most of the hospital staff !!

That says 'should' and not 'must'.

Our hospital has always charged for everyone, currently £4.20 an hour. The concession given to BB holders is that the parking bays are wider and nearer to the hospital entrances.

To be honest why should those with a BB get free or reduced parking anyhow. It's not as though they are all on the breadline..

For regular visitors you can buy a season ticket for a year which works out cheaper.

Ours has charged for years, from shortly after two hospitals were transferred to the one site. The rate is the same for anyone, but badge holders get and extra hour, to allow extra time to get between car and building. There are free half hour drop off/collection parking bays at a number of entrances, but these are usually full.

Hospital staff have to pay the daily rate and many are required to park on the old site, with a ferrying bus service provided at shift changeover times.

So if badge holders get an extra hour - that is NOT the same price is it ?
