Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
:rotfl: Makes me think of the tense relationship between my mum and my aunty (on dad's side) - she once bought her own sponge for washing up back in the late 80s and my mum has never forgiven her!!!

    How very odd!!!

    Day Seven
    Use it or Lose it
A quick one - any food use up tips.
Do you save your peelings to make soup, add leftover cranberry sauce or chutney in curries, rinse the last bit out of jars and them to casseroles.

    Wellbeing
Make a list of short-term goals - probably already covered by your March goals but I did say this list fit with a lot of elements of this month's challenge.

    Good morning,

I have to admit I have done some cleaning in someone else's house before. The friends we visited last weekend...I took the hairball out of the shower and gave the bath a wipe before i went in, had to. Took the black beard of the cold tap. They are lovely people but short of time and cleaning is not their priority (even if guests are coming, no reflection of their hospitality in other areas). I also cleaned up from the night before as I was up first with the kids, emptied the dishwasher, gave their belfast sink some needed bleach treatment (it was orange and the side drain black). HOWEVER, we have a relationship where it is fine to do so and not patronising as we spoke about it.

Last night I got a bit of painting done, prepped today's dinner, mended DS school jumper (needs to last to the summer as the colour will change after, so there is no point to buy another one) plus the usual.

Tonight I'll take DS to the chess club see what he says. My dad is a chess player and DS started to show an interest (he's not keen so far on football training etc so we thought we'll try other things).

    Another SFD today

I'll do some decluttering after I finished the guest bedroom and boiler room. I will only put things back in that are worthy of keeping. I'll do the same when I decorate our bedroom later in the year.

I quit Facebook nearly a year ago. Only have this forum now. I missed out on things but don't miss it and I guess it made me realised who are real friends (the ones that make the effort and pick up the phone and who were the ones that just used the convenience of FB to stay in contact). I found it false (oh look how happy my family is) and had this compulsion to check the daily barrage of non-information IYKWIM. I rather have a good chin wag with the girls in the office and talk real life issues with you guys.

    Today I'm grateful for:

    *sunshine
    *my improved sense of smell
    *lovely colleagues

  • I have returned from the stag which was a far too spendy weekend for my liking.

Today will be a NSD, thankfully. I've no choice in the matter actually. Batten down the hatches, March will be a tough month.

Use it or lose it - half a baked potato for lunch ( leftovers )
Wellbeing - walking to and from school in the sunshine, coming on here at lunch to de-stress
Be a pineapple - I always try to be nice but sent a message to my cousin's hubby as he is having a tough time, he seemed to really appreciate it
  • Today has been a spend day £20 in total but was for the holiday (milk, snacks and sandwiches). I go in the morning. I wont be on for five days but I am going to try and spend money as cheaply as possibly.

Oooo I want to be a pineapple. I try to be nice but after dog walking for a week for a friend with not even a thank you just say someone is off my xmas card list.

Toni - that was so quick echo Abundant's msg we are all here if you need a chat. Think most of us have experience of losing someone close.

Day 7 Day 3 of using up chicken again - maybe curry tonight.Throwing cauliflower in as well.

    Wellbeing
    - will do a bit of gardening and a walk later. Haven't been able to do much last few days and my back needs movement. Plus I need some daylight.

Mini spend today on my garden but I love it and its worth all the pennies I throw at it. so no SFD for me today stuck on 2 SFD.

Tomorrow Joiner eventually coming so more cash out - bit worried as he's a friend of daughters haven't got a price eek. Need my doors rehanging as nightmare as they are.

    Grateful for
    A nice home
Garden looking gorgeous all rockery plants, mini daffs and other bulbs blooming away
