Had to go to work today so decided to do a bit of shopping while I was out.
Got bread and grapes. £2.26.not a big spend but means I don't have to go out for the next couple of days.
Hoping to get rid of some more craft stuff, just keep things I know I'll use.
Listed 31 things on e-b*y yesterday, all things that seemed like a good idea at the time.:o
Had planned leftovers for dinner tonight,so saving on electric and washing up:D

Kong marine- I'm currently wearing a dress I really don't love. I think I'll charity shop it. Gave a shirt away at work today that I never liked, never fitted and isn't me.
I'm saving for a blowout next January when I'm the toned, athletic shape I want to be.
Grateful for:

My little boy getting his appetite back (and oh boy has he)

Hoping for a quiet day today, catching up with people I love.
As far as basic skills go - I will try anything. I can do basic DIY, change light switches etc and have repaired the toilet before. I wish I was a bit more confident in my abilities though. I love that I can knit and crochet. I just wish I could enjoy cooking a little bit more. I can do it but I don't like it at all. And I wish I could get into gardening - I really hate that.
And we both live in the northeast so that's 2 in 75,000 or 2 out of 150,000. Hahaha
I have picked up crocheting again after many years of not touching a hook. I am stilll re-learning all the stitches and how to read a pattern but I've started with a relatively simple one and finished a blanket using the corner to corner pattern. Quite proud of it. I am yet to learn knitting."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Apologies for absense. I am winning both the battle against the sore throat and cough and against the kitchen mess but fall into a heavy sleep when I rest.
Did a rubbish round up last night, including resorting the stuff Beloved had kindly done, emptied the huge kitchen bin (they used it without putting a bin bag in) and put it in the yard filled with recycled water to swish the remaining gunk out of the bottom.
Washing has been in and out of the machine, dried outside on the line and on every available radiator and packed two huge bags with the clean stuff - mine and theirs. Mine had 2 bath sheets, a bathh mat, one or two sheets, 4/5 pillowcases and a few clothes (needed a lie down after staggering upstairs with it). Theirs is bigger and includes coats they took off and left on the sofa after being out for the day (2 months ago?) Have been buried under successive mounds of dry washing. can nearly see my second couch again.
Loads more left the kitchen today - stuff back on shelves, away in drawers or cupboards, found a sinkful of utensils, measuring spoons and small bowls after all the spices and equipment were moved (think that kitchen shelf needs to go up asap, it may be that Beloved is just too tiny to reach the shelves (she has a little step to stand on) that the effort of putting things back is too much for her. Shelf is to go under the top cupboards with the rail currently under the cupboards put back under the shelf. This should accommodate all the pans, utensils and thing like the manual grater (Beloved has a machine that does it) and pyrex jug hanging from s-hooks (and a few bits that came off other things).
Some things are in the yard and I plan to pack more in large reuseable carrier bags. I can see more than half the floor and most of the worktops, so definite progress but need to launch myself back at it, soon.
I am out all tomorrow - mumis having a new washer and fridge-freezer delivered and has a hospital appointment 8 miles away (thought they had cancelled them all), so I am minding her partner until the day care bus picks him up and then waiting for delivery men. I also have a plan for swapping over the old and new fridge-freezers (mum has been filling them rather than running them down). Seeing doctor later on. Need to pack my bag with things to do (can't waste my time on daytime tv).
Will put up tomorrows challenge before I go (may be middle of the night).
Today I am grateful for not spending money (used my ice cream ration to fend off chocolate urges), for getting things done (haphazard but getting there) and for a lovely day - washing appreciated it even if I didn't get much of a chance to.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Good evening fellow turtles!
Sorry I haven't posted all weekend. I was too busy relaxing (if there is such a thing hahaha). I managed to earn 2 NSD's though so I'm up to 5/15 NSD's.
We did another big shop yesterday, half of which were housekeeping and toiletries leaving me with £25 food budget for the rest of the week. I am not worried because we have quite a good stock of food in, and I'm relying on a productive ys haul sometime this week that would give me good meals out of £15. Fingers crossed.
I did a bit of use it or lose it last Saturday night. I call it my Saturday night date with my Brother, the sewing machine. It is what I call my stitch therapy so counts for well being too. I made a toile/muslin (an earlier version of garment you make out of a cheap or free material to try the fit and design before cutting the actual, more expensive fabric) for a !!!!! bow blouse that I've been eyeing for a while now. The sewing pattern was free, given to me by a fellow freecyler, and the fabric is from my stash which was actually wombled from my sewing class. I've already made 2 different tops out of that fabric, and I'm going for a third one, a hat trick. In three hours, the bodies was complete and I'm happy with the fit , no alteration needed. Only the sleeves left to do, but due to my big, fat arms, I need to calculate the adjustment necessary. Once I'm happy with the fully finished product, I could start with the actual fabric, also coming from my stash, a gift from my best friend. I, happy to say. I have not yet broken my vow of not buying any more fabrics.
This evening, DS2 and I had a nice bonding session in the kitchen, he asked me to show him how to make tuna patties and we both had a good time and his pride and joy at completing the dish was so visible during supper time. 2 portions for the LTW tomorrow are already put aside
Hubby did 2 1/2 hours overtime this evening, covering staff sickness. That's 2 1/2 hrs and time and a half going towards our EF. Not sure how much it will be but we're both happy for the opportunity. I've also just submitted my travel expense of £289 which will hopefully be in this month's wages, again earmarked for the EF.
I received £94.06 cashback from quidco already added to the EF taking us up to a total of £9425.89."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
