Sorry for your loss Toni's Friend *sending hugs*
I've clocked another NSD today! Go me! Now at 3/15. Toms cooking dinner tonight too so that's something's I don't have to bother with! I've cleaned the bedroom as best I can given my limited time, but it's neT and tidy.
In the spirit of today's challenge I've also ear-marked an old dress I will never, ever wear again (I've had it for ten years - wore it to a wedding once) that I'll get rid of.I'm usually pretty good at de-cluttering. Most of my usual day-to-day clothes have a 'have I worn it Within the last year'' rule - if not they go! The other half is a different matter... massively hoards his clothes and gets sulky when I suggest getting rid of some!!!

So very sorry to hear that x0 -
I'd find that odd too. When we went to stay at the GPs I did a lot of cleaning and cooking. But they are in their 70s and have both had serious health problems recently (ongoing)
When they've come to stay here before MIL has kindly made dinner/loaded the washing machine/DW etc to help out, but I don't mind that as it's nice to have guests pitch in
I'd find it upsetting if they started scrubbing the decks though as my house is clean and doesn't need it. As I'm sure yours is too. And I am also struggling to understand why you'd need a hoover just for the sofa??
:rotfl: Makes me think of the tense relationship between my mum and my aunty (on dad's side) - she once bought her own sponge for washing up back in the late 80s and my mum has never forgiven her!!! :eek:0 -
toni'sfriend - So sorry to hear your news ((hugs)) to you and your family at this difficult time.0

Yay - Managed my 2nd NSD of the month!! Only another 13 to go.
Thanks for todays challenge mothernerd, I have been following KonMari for a while - I did clothing last year and then DH did his but we never really got any further so I am reading the book again and I have 3 days off this week when I am hoping to do clothing again and a few other categories plus I need to make space in the bedroom as it is a mess and hoarders paradise.
Today I am grateful for:
1. Sausage casserole (again) - tastes much better the day after.
2. Managing to dodge the rain showers again
3. Chocolate - am having a mardy evening so chocolate is just the tonic0 -
5th in the clear!
Today I am greatful:
1- Best friends who dont judge when house is messy after being held hostage by a 4 month old.
2- for having food in cupboards. No Spend November 2/15 and SPC 1340 -
Evening everyone,
Read a bit of my book earlier today and will hopefully read some more before hitting the sack.
Used my George Foreman grill for the first time today, grilling my lemon chicken I marinated yesterday. Good news is I successfully cooked it all the way through, the bad news is it didn't really taste of anything. Will have to look out some other recipes.
Yesterday my mum gave me some leftover cooked rice and I'll have that tomorrow for dinner meaning I can roll over one of this weeks planned dinners to next week.
As my dinner is sorted for tomorrow and Wednesday, I froze my diced chicken and will cook the curry later this week rather than today.
I found a food bank that was willing to take my open packs of unused nappies, but it isn't really accessible (I don't drive) so I put them on Freecycle and have already had an enquiry about them. Just trying to arrange a pick up/drop off now.
Signed up for a mystery shop for next week, it's only a £5 fee but I've to buy chocolates worth up to £10 which I'll be reimbursed for so couldn't say no. If they have a long date I may even keep them for my sister's birthday in July.
Have done some surveys today and updated my spreadsheet to account for the direct debits that came out today.
Oh and a NSD here taking me up to 4.VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Today I am grateful for a dry day, for dh getting back early enough for me to leave for work this morning, for dh having extra hours, for being able to get home a bit early, for hugs from dd, for dh making tea, for my snuggly jamas, for swallowing 2 frogs this morning, for my sister's sense of humour, for being all ready for tomorrow.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Went to the Trafford centre. Did our usual buying of stuff for little man - 3 books from Waterstones for £28  He loved them all when we read them tonight though. One was a 5 books in 1 of Hairy McClary. We usually get him books from charity shops so it was a bit of a blowout.
Had an expensive Italian meal at £36.10 for 3 of us. Wish we'd gone cheaper but it's only £6.10 over our usual celebration meal budget of £30. I do include these meals in my yearly budget but forgot to put it in my monthly budget. I wouldn't usually bat an eyelid but I think since wanting to save money in earnest I'm feeling guilty about spending it and wishing we'd not gone and just had a days walking and got a cheaper pub meal somewhere.
I was good when it came to spending my birthday money though. I spent a grand total of £0 on myself! Saw 2 pairs of nice maternity jeans for £34.99 & £25.99 but found one pair on ebay in my size so going to bid on those. The other pair's new in and cropped summery ones so will keep an eye out over the next few months on ebay. Hopefully I'll get both pairs for the price of one.
Kon mari wise I have so many clothes I just don't love anymore and never want to put them on, but because I don't have many clothes I worry I'll be short somehow without them. I have picked some stuff out recently that I gave to charity and have 4 items still to list on ebay but there's more I know should go.
Social media sabbatical shouldn't be a problem. I do go on facebook most days but don't miss it if I don't. Habit more than anything.1 debt vs 100 days -
